⚠️ HIGH WINDS WARNING – KEEP YOUR DOG SAFE! 🐶
The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for the Scottish mainland and islands off the west coast.
🕘 Warning in place: 9pm Saturday 24 October until 9pm Sunday 25 October 2026.
🌬️ Please take a few minutes to secure your garden gate before the high winds arrive!
Strong winds can blow gates open, damage fencing or create gaps that allow your dog to escape.
🐾 Keep your dogs safe:
✅ Check that your gate is firmly closed and securely latched.
✅ Use an extra lock or bolt if necessary.
✅ Check fences for loose panels, gaps or damage.
✅ Keep dogs indoors during the worst of the winds where possible.
✅ Take extra care when opening gates to let your dog in or out.
🚨 PLEASE DON’T TAKE THE RISK! A gate that is normally secure may not withstand strong gusts of wind.
A few simple checks could prevent your dog from going missing during the storm.
