As much as we love spending time with our dogs, there are some events where their well-being should be our top priority.
The Ayr Air Show is one of those occasions where leaving your dog at home is likely the best decision you can make for them.
Every year we see 𝐒𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 stressed dogs with oblivious humans.
It was 𝐇𝐎𝐓 and it was 𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃!

Dogs have incredibly sensitive hearing—much more so than humans.
The loud noises from jet engines, crowds, and other sounds typical of an air show can be extremely distressing. Even if your dog doesn’t seem to react to everyday noises, the intensity and unpredictability of an air show can cause significant anxiety and even long-term worries.

Beyond just the noise, the chaotic environment of an air show—crowds, sudden movements, and unfamiliar sights—can be overwhelming.
A frightened dog might try to escape, leading to a dangerous situation for both your dog and others. Even the most well-behaved dogs can react unpredictably when they’re scared, putting them at risk of injury or getting lost or worse!

Before bringing your dog to the Ayr Air Show, ask yourself an important question: does your dog actually want this experience, or is it more about your desire to include them in your plans?
While it’s natural to want our dogs to join us in fun activities, it’s important to recognise when something isn’t in their best interest.

Instead of bringing your dog into a potentially overwhelming situation, consider doing something fun with them at home before and after you go.
A long walk, a new toy, or some extra cuddle time can be a great way to ensure they feel included in your day.
You’ll have peace of mind knowing your dog is safe and happy while you enjoy the show.
Remember, being a responsible human sometimes means making decisions that prioritise your dog’s comfort and safety over your own desires.
The Ayr Air Show will be much more enjoyable knowing your dog is safe at home.
Ours certainly won't be going anywhere near it.
