The nights are drawing in, but your dog’s nose still needs a job! 👃 Mantrailing is the perfect way to keep busy minds happy through the darker months.

What is mantrailing?
Every person leaves behind a unique scent trail. In mantrailing, your dog learns to pick up the scent of one specific “missing person” and follow it until they find them, often to a big reward and a lot of celebration! 🎉 It’s based on the same skills search and rescue dogs use, taught in a fun and positive way.

What happens at a session?
👉 Your “missing person” heads off and hides.
👉 Your dog gets a sniff of their scent.
👉 Your dog follows the trail on lead while you follow your dog and learn to read their body language.
👉 Find! Treats, praise and a very proud pup.
We start simple and build the difficulty as your dog grows in confidence. Dogs work one at a time, so each dog gets the attention they need.

❓ Do I need experience? Not at all. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Today’s adventure walk with Hoopy, Rosie and Milo. Safe to say they had an absolute blast! We headed to the field of Old Mine Nature Park where the dogs enjoyed over 2 hours of freedom and having fun. This is what’s it’s all about 🙌🏻🙌🏻

🐾 Introducing Walk & Train with Fast & Curious Dogs! 🐾

Struggling to make progress with your dog’s training because life keeps getting in the way? You’re not alone, and we’ve got you covered.

With Walk & Train, we’ll collect your dog once a week for an hour-long training session, building on your training plan while you get on with your day. 🚐

You’ll get regular updates and a full training programme to follow at home, so you and your dog stay on the path to success.

✅ Loose lead walking
✅ Recall
✅ Reactivity (we’ll do an assessment first to make sure it’s the right fit)

🐶 Have a puppy? Get the training in early, with the right socialisation in the environments you need.

💷 £120 per month on a two-month sign-up
📍 Collection throughout Ayrshire. Pick-ups within 15 miles of Ayr are included in the price, and a small fuel charge applies outside this area

Not as many pics today cuz my battery was low 🙈 but that doesn’t mean the session wasn’t good. Our 3 experienced teams smashed some amazing trails in cery windy conditions, love how they now switch between air scenting to ground scents when needed. And we had Banksy trying it out for the first time. Banksy is a lovely beardie-border collie and she quickly got the idea and by the second trail her motivation was already growing. Can’t wait to see what she can do 🥰

I am thinking of offering discounted Mantrailing sessions for people that would be happy for me to bring and trail my own dogs. Maybe if you want an extra session or really progress your dog or practice stuff. No set dates or times (we can finish in an hour or we can be there for 3 it depends on how many people are on the session) I will try and be very flexible with locations, times and dates as I really just want my dogs to get back to trailing more. Comment below if your interested or send am PM. You must have had at least one mantrailing session before to come along.

❤️ Maybe the difficult dog was brought into your life for a reason…

I often think that some dogs come into our lives not because they are easy, but because they have something to teach us.

For me, that dog is Blaze. ❤️

Blaze is a nervous little dog who hasn't had the easiest start in life. She was diagnosed with IMPA (Immune-Mediated Polyarthritis) very early on, and because of that, she will need medication for the rest of her life.

And while that medication helps keep her well, it has also changed her.

She's restless. She's nervous. Sometimes she's reactive to things that other dogs might not even think twice about.

But she is also the best little dog I could have asked for.

Because despite everything, Blaze has never given up.

She keeps going.
She keeps trying.
And most importantly, she is learning to trust me.

And that has taught me something incredibly important about dogs.

I don't want a relationship with my dogs that is built on control.

I want one built on mutual trust and understanding.

I want Blaze to know that when something is scary, she can look to me. That I will listen when she's struggling. That I won't ask her to do something just because I want it done. And that her little wins matter.

This is also where dog sports have become so important to me.

Agility, scent work, mantrailing, canicross and all the other things we can do with our dogs aren't just about collecting rosettes or competing.

They're about finding something your dog loves and doing it together.

With Blaze, we might not be collecting rosettes like everyone else.

But when she does something that used to scare her…

When she chooses to engage with me…

When she trusts me in a situation she previously couldn't cope with…

When she tries something new…

We celebrate it like we've just won the Championship. 🏆❤️

Because to us, we have.

Our victories might look tiny to somebody else.

But I know how far she's come.

And that's what I think dog training and dog sports should really be about.

Not comparing your dog to somebody else's.

Not measuring success by how many rosettes you've collected.

Not expecting every dog to fit into the same mould.

It's about finding your dog's version of success and celebrating it.

Sometimes the dog who challenges you the most becomes the dog who teaches you the most.

Blaze has taught me patience.

She's taught me to listen.

She's taught me that behaviour always has a reason.

She's taught me that trust can't be demanded — it has to be earned.

And she's reminded me that sometimes the smallest wins are actually the biggest ones. ❤️

So here's to the nervous dogs.
The reactive dogs.
The complicated dogs.
The dogs who take a little longer.
And the people who choose to understand them rather than give up on them.

Your dog doesn't have to win the competition.

Sometimes, getting through the door, taking that first step, or choosing to trust you is the biggest win of all. 🐾❤️

Our Adventure Walks are back for October! 🎉

These aren't your everyday walks around the same old route. Every adventure takes us somewhere different, with walks taking place across beautiful beaches, woodland paths, open grassy fields and hills. 🌊🌲🌿⛰️

That means new places, new smells, new things to investigate and plenty of opportunities to explore — giving your dog both physical exercise and real mental enrichment. 🧠🐕

💻 Working on a Friday?
Let your dog have an adventure while you're busy at work! Instead of spending the day waiting for you to finish, they can be out exploring, sniffing and having a brilliant day with us.

🏡 Heading out on a Saturday?
Not sure what to do with the dog while you're out of the house? Let them come on an adventure too! 🐾 While you're busy enjoying your day, they can be off exploring somewhere new.

And because I don't believe in cramming dogs into huge groups, there are ONLY 4 DOGS PER ADVENTURE — giving every dog plenty of attention and space to enjoy themselves.

What a great way to finish a very busy week! The weather was kind and although our venue has changed a bit from the last time we were there the dogs took it all in their stride and smashed it. A venue that’s quite busy with plane spotters provided a fantastic opportunity for decoys and contamination on the trails and we threw in some longer trails as well so they dogs really needed to work for their reward today. Amazing work from everyone👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
