The last few weeks have been busy with solo puppy classes, one to one training, training walks & general training & behaviour consultations.
So what kind of work have we been covering through the training I provide?
Firstly itās all positive reinforcement training. We use food rewards, toys and the environment to motivate your dog to learn & modify & change behaviours.
Puppy classes. We have been supporting owners with general life skills such as settling, choosing the right chews, crate training, toilet training and choosing the right cues or commands to suit each individual puppy.
One puppy has been barking at the television so we have been looking at why this is happening and how we can change this.
Another puppy is worried about the outside world. Itās so over stimulating. So weāve been building confidence by playing certain games that we can then play outside to encourage the pup to feel more connected to something they enjoy.
Another adult dog wonāt come in from the garden so the owners have got into a pattern of chasing the dog around the garden which has now become a game for the dog. So we are changing things here by adding a training long line, teaching an alternative recall, the counting game and playing scent work.
Iām loving how the weather is changing from a very challenging hot summer easing us into dropped leaves, pumpkins, & the smell of fire wood in the air š š
