Sometimes, the most beautiful friendships are the ones you least expect. ♥️

Meet Yarra the cat and Errol the rabbit. Two completely different little souls who, for whatever reason, have struggled to find friendship with their own species. Despite our best efforts, neither has managed to form a lasting bond with their own kind. But then something rather special happened. They found each other.

A cat and a rabbit. Two little misfits who somehow found comfort, companionship and happiness in one another. They don’t care that they’re different. They don’t care that one meows and the other hops. They’ve simply decided that life is a little nicer with each other in it. And honestly? Our hearts can’t cope. So, we’ve decided to look for a very special forever home for them together. 🏡

This won’t be a typical adoption. We will be incredibly selective, with strict terms and conditions to ensure both animals remain safe, happy and have their individual needs met. Their friendship doesn’t remove the risks of a cat and rabbit living together, so appropriate separation, supervision and understanding will be essential.

We know finding the right home won’t be easy, but these two deserve someone who understands just how special they are. Because sometimes family isn’t about being the same. It’s about finding someone who makes you feel safe, loved and a little less alone.

Two different species. Two little hearts. One very unexpected friendship. And perhaps the sweetest love story Mini Beasts has ever had the privilege of witnessing. 🐾💕

Tikka and Paneer are two bonded boys made up of approximately 70% acrobatics, 30% ear floof and 100% questionable decisions. They spend their days launching themselves off furniture, performing gymnastics nobody asked for and generally behaving like they’ve been raised by a pack of feral squirrels.

Paneer is the confident one. You’ll usually hear him before you see him because his purr sounds like a diesel engine struggling to start on a cold morning. He also identifies as a highly trained assassin. His target? Plastic springs. He proudly marches around with his latest victim hanging from his mouth, growling like he’s just single handedly taken down a wildebeest on the African plains. It’s a 3cm piece of plastic, mate. Calm down.

Tikka is still deciding whether humans can be trusted. Sudden movements are unacceptable, loud noises are a personal attack, and he’d really rather you didn’t breathe too enthusiastically in his direction. However, he’s making fantastic progress thanks to Paneer and some confident older cats. And then there’s food. Oh, sweet heavens, the food. This boy could be in the middle of a full blown existential crisis, but shake a bag of treats and suddenly he’s Usain Bolt in a fur coat. Trust issues? Yes. Food issues? Absolutely not.

They’re playful, mischievous, increasingly confident and have the collective survival instincts of a wet paper bag.

Another week, another post for Miso & Moochi 💔

Every week, we share these two beautiful girls in the hope that somewhere, someone will see them and fall in love. And every week, we wait. Because surely, after everything they’ve been through, it’s their turn now?

Let us tell you why these girls deserve the world.

These two girls were found living under a shed, fighting to survive with their kittens. The heartbreaking part? They had an owner. An owner who simply didn’t care.

Every single kitten arrived poorly. Every single kitten was treated, recovered and went on to find their forever home. But their Miso and Moochi? The two girls who fought so hard to keep those babies alive? They’re still waiting. 😢

Miso and Moochi have already been let down by humans once. And now, week after week, they continue to be overlooked. Yes, they’re shy at first. But give them a little patience and you’ll discover two absolute lovebugs who actively seek out affection. ♥️

They don’t need a palace. They don’t need a millionaire. They don’t even need a knight in shining armour (although a bloke in a tin suit turning up to adopt them would make excellent content). 🏰 They just need someone to choose THEM.

Their babies got their happy endings. Why don’t they deserve theirs? 💔

We’ll keep posting these girls EVERY SINGLE WEEK until someone finally falls in love with them. Because these girls have spent long enough surviving. It’s time they started living. 🐾

Just a little reminder that here at Mini Beasts Rescue, we do not crate our animals! ♥️

Every single animal that comes into our care lives in a loving, home from home environment until they find their forever family. And when we say home from home, we mean it. We’re talking sofas being claimed, beds being stolen, toys scattered everywhere, and foster carers questioning whether they actually own their homes anymore.

Our cats have better sleeping arrangements than most humans, our rabbits have strong opinions about interior design, and our guinea pigs believe the fridge opening is a personal invitation to dinner. 🐱🐰🐹

Our foster homes aren’t kennels or rows of cages. They’re real homes, with real families, where our animals get to experience everyday life, build confidence, learn to trust and, most importantly, be loved. Some arrive scared, some arrive poorly, and some arrive with enough attitude to run a small dictatorship. But every single one gets the same thing. A safe place to call home until their forever one comes along.

And our foster carers? Well, they provide the love, the patience, the cuddles and the cleaning services. All completely unpaid, naturally. The animals have very strong views on minimum wage, and apparently we owe THEM money. 🙄

Today, our resident s*x pest, Errol, has taken a little trip to the vets to be neutered. 🍒👋🏼

After weeks of inappropriate advances, attempting to mount anything with a pulse, developing a rather questionable relationship with his stuffed teddy and, of course, releasing his bodily fluids all over the rug, we’ve decided enough is enough. Errol, naturally, is completely unaware of today’s agenda. As far as he’s concerned, he’s popped out for a lovely little day trip.

Little does he know he’s about to return home with two fewer accessories and hopefully a slightly less enthusiastic approach to romance. 💀

Please wish our little hormonal menace luck with his op today.

Thoughts and prayers for Errol’s balls. They’ve had a good run. 🥜🕊️

📖 The Diary of Fred

Entry 53: Week 57 - The School Run, Poor Decisions & An Uninvited Passenger

Dear Diary,

This week, Sim decided to take me on the school run with the tiny humans. Apparently, she thought it would be a lovely family bonding experience. The woman’s one bad decision away from needing supervision herself.

Firstly, she presented me with a cat carrier. A plastic prison. For ME. I’ve survived rat attacks, hamster violence and a leaf that moved without warning. I will NOT be transported like a dodgy parcel from Evri. Naturally, I refused. So she suggested I walk. WALK?!

Dear Diary, I nearly choked on my own disgust.

Have we fallen on hard times? Is there a cost of living crisis I haven’t been informed about? Am I expected to start paying rent next?? I planted myself firmly on the pavement. Sim called me. I ignored her. She made ridiculous kissy noises. I stared at her like she’d just asked me to get a job. Honestly, watching a grown woman publicly negotiate with a cat was humiliating. And she wonders why I don’t introduce her to my friends.

Eventually, she picked me up. FINALLY. I spent the remainder of the school run perched in her arms like the national treasure I am, while she complained about my weight.

Apparently I’m 'lazy'. No, Sim. I’m management. Bodhi might be happy trotting around sniffing lampposts like he’s reading the morning paper, but I have standards.

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Despite Sim’s appalling attitude, I actually quite enjoyed the school run. So I’ve decided I’m going every morning. Unfortunately, nobody informed Sim. Every morning, as soon as the car door opens, I make my move. School bags go in. Children go in. FRED GOES IN.

Apparently, this is 'not happening'. Excuse me? You started this woman. You can’t take me on one school run, introduce me to the joys of judging strangers from a moving vehicle, then expect me to return to sitting at home licking my own backside.

I’ve got a social life now. Places to be. Children to supervise. Other parents to judge. Frank can look after the house. He’s been getting far too comfortable anyway. Sim now has to conduct a full security check before leaving each morning because apparently I’m a 'little stowaway'. Stowaway? I’m practically on the PTA.

In summary, I rejected imprisonment, refused physical labour, forced Sim to carry me around like a designer handbag and have now appointed myself permanent school run supervisor. Sim says I can’t come every day. Bold words from a woman who can’t even stop me pi***ng in her bath.

End of log.

I am not just Fred the cat.

I am Fred - school run supervisor, professional car hijacker, unpaid headteacher, and firm believer that if Sim didn’t want a cat on the school run, she shouldn’t have given the cat a taste of the school run.

Naughty and Nice Furries of the Week 🌟

😇 Nice of the Week - LADY D 👑

From one of the worst starts in life to becoming the absolute queen she was always meant to be. Lady D has overcome so much, learnt that humans aren’t all terrible and is now absolutely thriving! In fact, Her Ladyship is currently packing her suitcase, polishing her crown and preparing to move into her forever home. 🥹

😈 Naughty of the Week - ERROL 🐰

Errol remains a s*x pest. In an attempt to manage his rather enthusiastic urges, Errol has been provided with his very own rabbit teddy. We have called it Randy. We thought this might help redirect his inappropriate behaviour and give the rest of the household some much needed peace. And technically, it has. Unfortunately, Errol has now discovered the full capabilities of his new girlfriend and has taken to releasing his gentleman’s gravy all over Sim’s rug during their romantic encounters. Yes. The rug. The one Sim walks on. In her own home. Apparently, Errol believes his private activities require a public audience and absolutely no consideration for the soft furnishings.

Lady D is packing her bags for a beautiful new chapter. Errol should be packing his bags for a court appearance.

Two very different life journeys. 🙃🐾

Well, this is awkward. After spending her time with us being referred to as a handsome little gentleman, it turns out Brixton is, in fact, a lady. Our apologies, Your Majesty. 👸

Brixton is a sweet, calm and chilled little soul who is slowly learning that humans aren’t quite as terrifying as she first thought. She’s playful, curious and has started allowing slow, gentle interactions. She’s not quite ready to throw herself into your arms declaring undying love, but she’s making progress, and every little step is a victory. Loud noises however, are an absolute no. Sudden movements? How very dare you. A calm, patient human who respects her boundaries? Now we’re talking.

Brixton needs a peaceful, understanding home where she can build her confidence at her own pace. No pressure, no expectations, just patience, kindness and plenty of playtime. She might not be the cat who greets you at the door on day one, but watching a nervous little soul learn to trust is something truly special. Brixton doesn’t need someone to change her. She needs someone to give her the confidence to be herself. ♥️
