🐾💕A Little Update from Purrsnwhiskers Maine C**n Cattery 💕🐾
As a few of you know, I’ve been thinking for a while about stepping away from breeding, and I’ve decided that if Narla conceives this time, this will be our last litter for now. 🤍
Narla has just returned home from stud, and although she didn’t conceive the last time she went, we’re keeping everything crossed that this time will be different. 🤞🐾 There were plenty of matings, so now it’s simply a waiting game!
Regardless of the outcome, Narla will be spayed and will spend the rest of her life here with us at Purrsnwhiskers, enjoying everything she deserves as one of our much-loved family members. ❤️
So, why am I stepping away for now?
Life has a way of reminding us what really matters, sometimes when we least expect it. Since Dad’s brain injury, so much of my time, energy and emotions have understandably been focused on him, his recovery and what the future holds for our family. It’s been an incredibly difficult and emotional time, and there is still a long road ahead.
Alongside supporting Dad, I have my family, work and, of course, my own beautiful cats to care for. I’ve realised that I simply cannot do everything, be everything to everyone and keep pushing myself as though I have endless energy.
As much as I’d love to be Superwoman, I’m not. ❤️
Right now, Dad needs me, and I need to be able to give my family the time, attention and energy they deserve without putting myself under even more pressure. We still have a lot to work through, particularly making sure Dad’s future care is properly arranged and that we have a clearer picture of what life will look like for all of us moving forward.
But this isn’t goodbye forever. 💕🐾
My intention is to return to breeding when things have settled down, Dad’s care is sorted and life feels a little more settled for our family. I don’t know exactly when that will be, and I don’t want to put a timescale on something that is still so uncertain, but I hope that once we’re through this difficult chapter, I’ll be able to find my way back to something that brings me so much happiness.
Purrsnwhiskers has never just been about breeding kittens. It’s about the love I have for my cats, the wonderful families I’ve met along the way and the little community we’ve built together. That doesn’t simply disappear because I need to take a step back for a while. ❤️
I’ll always be here for my Purrsnwhiskers kitten families, sharing in your updates, celebrating your milestones and offering help, advice and support whenever you need me. Once you’re part of the Purrsnwhiskers family, you’re always part of it. 🐾💕
There will, of course, be updates to come regarding Narla, and I’ll keep you all posted as we find out what the future holds.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, trusted me with your families’ newest additions and been part of this journey. Your kindness, understanding and continued support mean more than you know. ❤️
For now, I need to take a breath, focus on Dad and my family, and take each day as it comes. Sometimes stepping back isn’t about giving something up; it’s about recognising that the timing isn’t right and allowing yourself the space to deal with what matters most.
So, for now, it’s see you later, not goodbye. 💕🐾
Lots of love,
Victoria and all the Purrsnwhiskers gang 🐾💕
