🥵 They’re adorable, but let’s be honest… they’re also intense to live with!

🤯 Sleepless nights. Little teeth nibbling everything (including you!). Toilet accidents to clean up. And a constant stream of questions…

🐾Today I visited Koba, a little staffy pup, who was doing some very hard puppy biting!!!

🦷Not all puppy biting is the same. As well as the normal stuff, we also looked into how we can help Koba with regulation and also help desensitise her to movement, which seems to trigger her biting.

🥰This evening I met little Horace a show x working cocker.

🐾 Horaces owner was struggling with his biting, which is very common in puppies.

🐶Many puppies increase biting when they’re tired, need the toilet, when they’re hungry and when they’re teething and their gums hurt.

👃🏽As well as going through teething we also went through fun sniffing games to stimulate Horaces brain and settle work.

🍋When life gives you lemons you make lemonade! And maybe start a new thing!!!! The A11 was shut and life decided we shouldn’t be at the field.

On Saturday instead of going to the field we did some real life training and went to Old Buckenham!

👀 Focus work can be a bit overrated I think. If you want your dogs to be ok with something they need to see and process it and feel comfortable or even bored by it. So we looked at how we wanted our dogs to behave around other animals.

🍻We then put our settle work into real life and went to the pub!!!! Settle can look different for different dogs. Some preferred to stand, some did lay down.

🤷🏽‍♀️What are life skills?

🌍It’s the ability and confidence to cope with the real world.

🐕‍🦺🦮In puppy class we teach dogs to walk past each other without interacting, but also suitable greetings.

🐾We teach owners how to introduce dogs to new experiences and objects they may feel wary of.

🗺️We give dogs the chance to look at and explore novel objects.

👩‍⚕️🪮We cover vet and grooming visits.

🏆We set puppies up for as much success as we can so they can thrive in the real world!

🐑Do you want a puppy that you’re in control of around livestock?

😎Do you want a puppy who’s confident in a multitude of situations?

🦮🐕‍🦺Do you want your puppy appropriately socialised but also able to walk past other dogs and people?

😫Do you need a little break (it’s ok, I know puppies can be intense! And we’re all human and I know that when you’re lacking sleep and being nibbled at it can be hard to see the wood from the trees!)

🐶During puppy walks I take pups to a variety of locations and expose them to different sights and environments, whilst training them.

All puppy walks must include a 1:1 initially
