☀️🐾 HOT WEATHER SAFETY REMINDER 🐾☀️

With temperatures set to reach 31°C this week, we wanted to share a few important reminders to help keep your animals safe in the heat.

🌡️ Walk dogs early morning or late evening
If the pavement is too hot for your hand for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for their paws.

💧 Fresh water at all times
Make sure dogs always have access to cool, clean drinking water and top it up regularly.

🏡 Provide shade and cool areas
Whether indoors or outdoors, animals need somewhere cool to escape the heat.

🚗 Never leave dogs in vehicles
Even with windows open, temperatures can become life-threatening within minutes.

🧊 Try cooling treats
Frozen raw treats, frozen fruit (pet-safe varieties), ice cubes in water bowls, or frozen enrichment toys can help keep your animals comfortable.

⚠️ Know the signs of heatstroke
Heavy panting, excessive drooling, lethargy, vomiting, wobbliness or collapse require urgent action and veterinary attention.

❤️ Let’s help keep our four-legged family members safe and comfortable during this week’s heatwave.

🌞 And don’t forget to look after yourselves too! We’re no good to our furry family members if we end up with heatstroke. Keep the suncream topped up, stay hydrated and try to stay cool.
