Sarah our Friday vet 🩺

🏥 Been at Little Hoppers for 2 years (at the Five Oak Green branch) and at Headcorn since it opened 9 months ago.

Sarah graduated in 2018 and started off in Kent in a practice that saw all creatures great and small (including zoo animals). Since then has worked in small animal practices in South East London and Kent, gaining a range of experience in emergency and out of hours, general practice and hospitals.

I have enjoyed all aspects of veterinary medicine but particularly love surgery and I have a post graduate certificate in Soft Tissue Surgery. Meaning I can take on more complex surgical procedures. I am currently studying for another certificate this time in feline medicine/oncology. As much as I love dogs I do have a softer spot for cats. I can perform laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures and hope that we will be able to offer these procedures one day soon.

Favourite part of the job - getting to work with a great team and the fact that no two days are the same. And of course all the wonderful pets I get to meet and getting to know their personalities through the stories the owners tell me about the mischief they get up to.

Own pets 🐾- 4 cats. Two Slovak cats from vet school who live with my parents and 2 English cats, a ex bredding Ragdoll who is now terrorised by her younger brother found on the streets of Five Oak Green at 3 weeks old. Having one eye doesn't hindered his aim with his teeth. 🐱🐱🐱🐱

Favourite animal - too hard too choose. My spirit animal is a Koala but also love pandas/red pandas.🐼

Charlotte
Veterinary Care Assistant ❤️

🏥 Been at the practice- 2 months

I have recently completed training to become a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) here at Little Hoppers! 🐾
I have my own beauty business, but I’ve always had a huge love for animals and wanted to take on a completely different challenge. I decided to follow that passion and I’m so glad I did!
I’m really enjoying my new job and love looking after all the animals that come through the doors at Little Hoppers. I also really enjoy assisting our lovely vets and nurses and learning something new every day. 🐶🐱🐰

I’m really looking forward to continuing my training, building my confidence and learning lots more along the way. I’m so happy to be part of the Little Hoppers team! 🐾💕

Favorite part of the job - meeting everyone’s lovely animals and getting lots of cuddles 🥰

😍 Bravery Award 😍

🐾 Look at that beautiful baby! 🥹❤️
Three months ago, Hunter came to us extremely pale and lethargic, with severe anaemia and awful, bloody diarrhoea.
He was very poorly, and blood tests showed that his protein levels were dangerously low — meaning he was losing protein through his intestines because his gut simply wasn’t healthy enough to absorb and digest food properly.
After further testing, we discovered the culprit: Giardia 🦠
Giardia is an intestinal parasite that can cause severe diarrhoea in puppies and, in serious cases, lead to protein loss, anaemia and failure to grow and thrive.
Thankfully, Hunter responded brilliantly to treatment. ❤️ After a few ups and downs (which can happen with this particularly pesky parasite!), we are absolutely delighted to say that he is now completely clear of Giardia! 🎉
And just look at him now… 🥹
He has TRIPLED his weight! He’s growing into the most handsome, healthy boy — and that waggy tail he brings through the door every time he visits melts all of our hearts. 🐶💕
What a transformation, Hunter! ❤️

Head Veterinary Nurse 🩺

🏥 Been at the practice - Since the opening of little hoppers Headcorn branch - 9 months ago

Emmie qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Nursing and have worked in small animal practice ever since.
Over the years, I’ve gained experience in a wide range of veterinary nursing roles, including working at the Royal Veterinary College Referral Hospital and in out-of-hours emergency care. This has given me a broad range of experience in both routine and emergency veterinary nursing.
As Head Nurse at Little Hoppers, my role is to help ensure that we provide the highest standard of care for your pets, while also supporting and looking after our wonderful owners. 🐶🐱
I’m passionate about making sure that both pets and their families feel comfortable, cared for and supported whenever they visit us. My particular interests are canine behaviour and end-of-life care. I find helping owners better understand their dogs, as well as supporting families through difficult end-of-life decisions, especially rewarding.

Favorite part of the job - I really enjoy training and supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals, including future Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants and Vets. I’m passionate about ensuring that students are given the opportunities, guidance and nurturing they need to develop their confidence, achieve their potential and succeed in their chosen careers. ❤️

Favorite animal - Highland cows & White Tigers 🐯

Own pets 🐾 I have a crazy Sproodle called Bramble — I’m sure some of you may have met him! — a Korat called Tulip, and a moggy called Dory. 🐱🐶🐱

What I bring to the team - I bring years of knowledge and experience, along with a calm and organised approach. Some even call me the “mama of the practice’’ ❤️❤️

Meet our lovely vet Sonia 🩺
🏥Been at the practice- 4 months, Sonia is originally from Spain graduated from the university of Santiago de compostela and came to the UK for a summer visit to visit her cousin.. 10 years later she’s still here 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

After some work experience and internships she quickly fell in love with veterinary medicine in the uk and has since worked across general practice, hospitals, out of hours, emergency’s and exotic referral.

She even helped write an article about a tumor found in a degu that at the time was the first of its kind reported in the world 🐭🔬

Sonia particularly loves internal medicine, diagnostics, surgery, emergency’s and those tricky cases that make you scratch your head! 🧠🐾

She has completed a postgraduate certificate in internal medicine with commendation and is now in the process of having this homogolated so she can become an advanced practitioner in internal medicine 🩺🎓

But most importantly, sonia is a very caring vet ❤️ she genuinely cares about both people and animals. Her own pets are very much her fur babies, so she understands just how much our pets mean to us and the love we have for them.

2 cockerpoos. 1 miniature poodle bagheera bengal boy 🐱🐶

Favorite part of the job - seeing animals getting better and coming back with no more pain or recovered from sickness 💕

Meet Dizzy ❤️ A wonderful 20-year-old patient who has been experiencing some osteoarthritis. Following recommendations from our vet, Sonia, Dizzy was given a dose of Solensia.

Solensia is a monthly injection specifically designed for cats with osteoarthritis. It contains a monoclonal antibody called frunevetmab, which works by targeting and reducing pain signals associated with arthritis, helping cats move more comfortably and maintain a better quality of life.

We look forward to seeing Dizzy again in one month's time to assess his progress and see how he is getting on with the treatment. 🐾

If you’ve got an elderly pet showing signs of pain, stiffness, difficulty jumping, reduced mobility, or changes in behaviour, come and see us. Our team can help assess whether arthritis may be affecting their quality of life and discuss the treatment options available.

Dave was such a sweet boy who recently had a lump removed here at Little Hoppers.
We're delighted to see him on the road to recovery.
