Places are booking up fast for our Christmas lunches and breakfast with Mr and Mrs Claus - don't miss out!

🎄Our delicious vegan xmas lunches are available on Saturday 7th November, Saturday 14th November, and Sunday 15th November only, and must be booked in advance. You can choose between a 12pm sitting and a 2.30pm sitting. Adults are £32pp while under 12s are £17pp.

The normal café menu will be available on these days too, but indoor seating may be limited!

🎅Breakfast with Mr and Mrs Claus is on the last Saturday of our winter season, 21st November at 10.30am, and includes fun for the kids and a present for them. Under 12 places are £19 each, while adults are £16pp - again, places must be pre-booked by emailing [email protected] !

🎁Our fabulous festive fayre is on Sunday 8th November. No need to book if you're visiting, but we do have a few spots left for stall holders. Email [email protected] to book a stall. It's bound to be a busy event so there'll be very good foot traffic for businesses and charities looking for a pitch!

❄️We close for the winter on Sunday 22nd November so you've only got less than 5 weeks to visit us this year! We can't wait to see you!

Billy and his new friend reminding you to Follow That Elephant!
Follow That Elephant is the third book in Billy's Earth Boy series of memoirs. Available at the sanctuary, where we then get 100% of the profits, good bookshops, and on Amazon, but then we only get around a third of the profits! (Once the kindle edition is finally released we will get all the proceeds from those sales)

Our café specials this weekend 😋🤤

Spice bag - chips, nuggets, red and green peppers, onions, chillies, and salt and chilli seasoning, served with a pot of curry sauce. It's spicy and delicious!

Neil's famous Scotch "eggs". A homemade vegan egg, wrapped in sausagey goodness, then breaded. It tastes better than we remember the animal version tasting, and is even more delightful for being cruelty free.

And we've got wraps and toffee apple pancakes too!

As always, everything is vegan - unlike many rescues, we don't save them to serve them!

Meet Trooper

Our sister sanctuary, Earth Dragons International Dog Sanctuary is desperately looking for a loving home for the wonderful Trooper.

He is only 4 years old and was rescued during a heatwave from the streets of Bosnia when he was just a tiny puppy. Four of his siblings tragically passed away, as mum had been so dehydrated trying to sustain them all. Since finding safety, Trooper's mum and remaining siblings all were lucky enough to find homes, but for some reason no-one has ever shown any interest in him 🥺

He is an affectionate and sweet natured boy, and really deserves to experience life with his own human family after spending his whole 4 years in kennels.

Trooper can be wary of men, so a female only home would suit him best. Ideally he also needs to be the only animal - he can be jealous of other dogs getting attention around him! No wonder after being overlooked for so long.

He is a very intelligent dog, and would love a human who can provide lots of mental and physical stimulation, and show him the patience and understanding he needs to thrive. He loves exploring the world and is learning to play with toys - he just needs the right person/people to help him grow in confidence.

We've got a last few spots available for Breakfast with Mr and Mrs Claus - don't miss out!

Join us on Saturday 21st November at 10.30am for a special early visit from Mr and Mrs Claus as they get their Christmas preparations underway. They'll be popping in to say hello to you and our residents, and making sure they're being as ethical as possible by only flying with toy reindeer as they know using real reindeer to pull their sleigh isn't kind to them!

We've even heard that they'll be bringing some lovely presents for all the children who come for breakfast!

If you saw our earlier post about pigs and pancakes, well why don't you come check out this week's special of homemade American style pancakes, bacun, maple syrup, banana, and pecans!

It might sound like a strange combination, but the sweet and salty really works! And the most delicious thing about it is that it's cruelty free, as always. As our café's motto goes, we don't save them to serve them.

Meet Merlin 🐴🧙

Merlin came to us a few years ago as a foal who had been dumped in the same field as seven other young boys about 5 years earlier. Sadly these cobs are bred but the boys that are born, much like male calves in the dairy industry, aren't wanted because they aren't as profitable.

Merlin was adopted to a lovely home, but due to personal circumstances his family have recently had to bring him back to us. Unfortunately, Merlin has also been diagnosed with sarcoids, which are a kind of skin tumour. They are very treatable and will be burned off with a laser, but this is a cost we had not budgeted for. His previous family have said they will contribute to the vet bill, but we are trying to raise £600 to cover as much as possible (£500 on facebook and £100 on instagram) - any extra raised will go towards the general day to day care of all of our animals.

Please note we will not tolerate any negative comments about his humans who returned him - we aren't going to explain their circumstances, but we know they have not made the decision to give him, and their other equines, up easily. They have our full support. And like all reputable rescues, every adoption comes with lifetime rescue back up in case something like this happens and they can't stay in their home.
