Derbyshire Cat Centre Our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.

Derby Adoption Centre is the largest purpose built cat centre in this area and was opened in 1998, with 121 pens to house approximately 150 cats and kittens. Since then we have had the much needed addition of our cat cottage and more recently an annex with 15 extra pens. We can now potentially have in residence up to 240 cats and kittens at any one time, unfortunately there are usually just as many waiting to come into us to find new homes.

Handsome Pye is looking for a forever home. He is 2 years old. He’s been straying for a while and came into with an injured eye.

Pye has FIV which means he has the feline immunodeficiency virus. His immune system is now weakened which means he needs to find an indoor home. This will help protect it.

Pye is a shy boy who needs time and patience to settle into a home environment. He loves his food and that is definitely the way to his heart.

We are starting to run low on toys in the centre — if you are able to help by purchasing a toy or two, our Amazon Wishlist has been updated🤞🏻

A reminder that we are no longer able to accept donations of pre-used scratch items. We are also unable to re-use scratch items within the centre so we are running low on these again 😭

(Here’s one of the wonderful items we received previously which brought a Mama and her 4 kittens so much entertainment!)

And last but not least — we wondered if anyone has any old 🧸 TEDDIES 🧸 that they were thinking of sending to charity or even putting in the bin?

These cheeky boys are very inquisitive and playful. They love their food and are always down for a dreamie or two!

Young Jake was found lost and alone in the street before coming into the centre. He is 6 months old.

He is a very affectionate boy who loves to have all the fuss and attention he can get. He loves to play and always has a variety of toys to keep him busy throughout the day.

By attending our events, you are directly helping us to look after the many cats and kittens at our Centre. We not only raise funds on the day, but also awareness of our work in the local area.

Boris boy — a grumpy old man with a heart of gold ❤️

Our beloved Boris, approximately 12 years old, arrived at the centre back in March in a very sorry state after being found straying. We found that he had a sore mouth and couldn’t groom himself which resulted in all his teeth being removed and a rather dodgy hair cut 🙈

On top of that he then suffered with a bad case of flu and diarrhoea, which knocked him back a few steps. He recovered from his flu with medication (and lots of TLC from us!) but he is still on a sensitive diet which he may need to stay on.

Once he knows you he is a big softie — he is a big fan of chin tickles, being brushed and food! The video is him politely waiting for his next meal….

Two terrific tuxedos Ronnie and Donnie…

Sadly their previous owner went into care so now these lovely boys are looking for a new home together. They are coming up to 11 years old.

They have both had dentals whilst in care and they have only ever lived indoors. They have spent all their life together and have a close bond.

7 month old Looby Lou is a dinky lady who is very outgoing and loves to say hello to everyone she meets!

She came from a multicat household so has experience of living with other cats.

She does have pre-existing wound on her front left paw which we believe to be from a cat bite so shouldn’t be any cause for concern.

Not sisters by blood but sisters by heart 💕

Golden oldies Jasmine and Layla are looking for a cosy retirement home and a human servant to tend to their every need. They are sweet, gentle souls who like to snooze the day away side by side (Jasmine normally nabs the heat pad!).

They love a fuss and go mad for catnip…because you’re never too old for catnip! Whilst they have only ever lived indoors, they do enjoy sitting out on their shelf at the centre watching the world go by, so may appreciate a little sun patch in a secure garden?

Jasmine is 17 years old and Layla is 15 years old. As expected at this age they both have a few ailments but nothing that requires medication at this stage.
