It’s Weigh Wednesday! 🐾

Regularly weighing our animals is an important part of their ongoing care ⚖️

Monitoring an animal’s weight helps keepers and vets keep track of their health. These weigh ins help us monitor growth and development, ensure they are getting the right amounts of food, and helps us track animals’ health and wellbeing over time 🩺

Our keepers work hard to train our animals to voluntarily participate in weighing sessions through positive reinforcement 🦥

Here you can see: Max the blue-fronted Amazon parrot, Flint the red panda, a fire-bellied toad, Tamra the golden-headed lion tamarin, Ramina the female Pygmy slow loris, and Birdy the blue and gold macaw all stepping onto the scales 🦜

Our very first table top sale is coming up THIS SATURDAY!

This is an all weathers event undercover - so an iffy forecast is no problem at all 🌧️🌦️☀️

Come along for a browse and grab some bargains.
We have clothes, books, toys, and household items - your entry ticket includes access to the tabletop sale happening inside the zoo!

By shopping secondhand we can reduce our impact on the environment ♻️🌎

Without realising, we use SO MANY resources from the rainforest in our day to day items - for electronics, clothes, books, beauty products, home decor, toiletries - all having a catastrophic effect on these vital biomes.

So the more we can reduce the demand for these things, the better.
Buying pre-loved items supports a more sustainable lifestyle 🌿

This means you are able to buy items from our wish list, which will then be delivered directly to the zoo. The items range from food to enrichment, bedding and keeper equipment. This means you have a more direct way to donate to the zoo, and you get to see the difference it makes! 🦥
