AHI and AHWNI are hosting a major public meeting on the all-island fight against BVD.

While significant progress has been made towards eradication, BVD remains a threat to farms, with higher 2025 and 2026 incidence rates identified in Armagh, Fermanagh and Monaghan.

The meeting will feature farm representatives, vets and programme leaders, with updates on the current BVD situation, expert advice and an open Q&A discussion.

Finn was in to see us today and to get his staples out after major surgery last week, a very friendly and playful springer spaniel he is ! Finn was playing with his favourite ball 🏀 last week and somehow managed to swallow it🫣😧.
An Xray🩻 showed that the ball had lodged in his oesophagus just behind his heart and it wasn't for budging! He was really unwell and was rushed straight to the operating theatre for emergency thoracic surgery, this was a difficult, complicated surgery and a real team effort! We're happy to report that all went well and he went home the next day for rest and recovery😃
He has been on a liquidised diet for the last week to allow his oesophagus to heal. We're delighted to report that he's back to himself and in great form, just stay away from the balls in future Finn! 🏀😃

This little one was left in with ourselves today around 3:20pm.
He is Microchipped but we are unable to contact the owner, if you own this little fella or recognise him please contact us! 🤍🍏
