The dreaded post 😬

Just a little reminder that if you have an outstanding invoice, I’d really appreciate it if you could get it paid when you have a moment 🙏🏻

If you’ve misplaced the email, just drop me a message and I’ll happily resend it ☺️

Little Hint 🚨

I was chatting to Yvonne from Montrose Pet Shop about this and thought I’d share!

You know the yucky grizzly bits on chicken that you cut off before cooking? They normally end up in the bin, right?

Well, I started chucking them in the air fryer for 8 mins and add them to the bowl for the dogs 🐕

If I’m cooking plain chicken for myself, I’ll also drain the chicken broth and pop it into their bowls too 😋

In a world where social media has taken over about marketing for the best foods etc for your dogs, it can feel overwhelming and expensive 💵

I’m all about providing the best food for my dogs but with rising costs of just trying to live, it can be HARD.

But this is a little trick you can do that saves you some pennies and reduces your waste 🧡

AVAILABILITY OPENING UP

You will have probably noticed that there has been an increase in activity in my socials this week and that’s because comp mode has been deactivated 😂

Unfortunately, being autistic I struggle to focus on multiple things at once. I hyper focus on one thing very well and need it to be finished before moving on. Which I know, doesn’t bode well for running a business 😬😂

The picture is what I was getting up to at the weekend 🤣

ANYWAYS

I now have much more availability opening up in the end of August and September for 121 programs.

There are some day training spaces opening up also and those who have blocks coming to an end and you want to rebook, pop me a message and I can get that sorted for you! 🫶🏻

Bulk orders for treats will be getting organised next week. I need to get a price list together for my new supplier which allows you to order in smaller quantities too!

As always, thank you for you patience and understanding 🧡

REACTIVITY

Reactivity has become a bit of a buzzword without much understanding.

In General: The tendency to respond quickly or strongly to something.
* Example: “His emotional reactivity made stressful situations difficult.”

Chemistry: The degree to which a substance undergoes chemical reactions.
* Example: “Sodium has high reactivity with water.”

Psychology/Medicine: The extent to which a person or organism responds to external or internal stimuli.
* Example: “Stress can increase physiological reactivity.”

But we often disregard the fact that many of the dogs sleeping on your sofa’s were bred to be reactive to stimuli.

My own dog, Vallah, has a long history of being bred to guard farms and property against intruders, herd livestock, pull carts etc. However in more modern times her breed is used in the military and police for general purpose and detection purposes.

Is it fair that I should expect her to not react to moving things or be suspicious of people etc?

Absolutely not.

However I can give her outlets to replicate those genetic traits and take time to help her manage her arousal.

The biggest part being physical exercise and mental fulfilment. A licki mat simply won’t cut it for her.

But as usual, I have taken a wander past my original point 😂

Reactivity is an umbrella term for many different things. It’s important to understand what it is you’re dealing with and the dogs itself.

Physical exercise, breed fulfilment, ensuring the dog isn’t dealing with illness or pain, structure and REST are all at the top of my list of priorities to look at first.

If you want help, pop me a WhatsApp 🧡

I asked some of the day trains to test out the new mic. I think it’s a hit 🤔
