A difficult summer for Fetch & Stretch 💔
We’re going to be completely honest with you — this summer has been incredibly difficult for us.
We've had 5 heatwaves, and while we completely understand that keeping dogs safe has to come first, every period of extreme heat means cancelled walks, reduced hours and days where we simply cannot operate as normal.
For a small independent business like ours, that has a huge knock-on effect.
We’ve lost a significant amount of income over the summer, and unfortunately our bills don’t stop when the temperature rises. The van still needs running, insurance still needs paying, business costs still need covering and, of course, we still have a family to support.
We’ve always tried to put our customers and their dogs first. We refuse to walk dogs when temperatures become unsafe because their welfare will always come before money.
But we now need to be honest about something that is really difficult for us to say…
We need you.
If things continue as they are, there is a genuine possibility that we may have to make the incredibly difficult decisions regarding Fetch & Stretch.
We absolutely do not want that to happen.
So, if you have been putting off booking walks, pet visits, taxi journeys or other services with us, now is the time to use us.
If your dog needs a walk, book it with us.
If you need a pet visit, book it with us.
If you need a pet taxi, give us a shout.
If you’re going away and need someone you trust to look after your pets, please think of us.

We’re not asking for sympathy — we’re asking for support.
Fetch & Stretch is our livelihood, but it’s also something we have poured our hearts into building. We have some amazing customers and some absolutely brilliant dogs in our lives, and the thought of losing all of that genuinely breaks our hearts.
We know times are difficult for everyone, and we completely understand that. But if you can support a small local business right now, we would be incredibly grateful.
