Tips on keeping your dog cool whilst travelling in the heat!

🐾 Fans, fans, fans! Getting the fresh air circulating inside the vehicle to keep warm air out! Bonus if you have AC! 🪭
🐾 Provide fresh drinking water 💦
🐾 Dampen your dog and combine with a fan to help cool their body temp! 🌡️
🐾 Take frequent breaks, especially if they're drinking a lot of water!
🐾 If stopped, cover your vehicle to stop the internal temp rising (DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS IN THE VEHICLE) ⚠️

Some realistic training today whilst it's too warm for walks!

Adding in our 3 D's:

🐾 Duration (How long can they hold a position?)
🐾 Distance (How far can I move away whilst they maintain the position?)
🐾 Distraction (Can they hold the position whilst there's other things going on?)

Not only is this a great skill to practice to teach your dog a solid off switch, it's also mentally stimulating as they have to focus on what they are doing! And these guys absolutely nailed it! 🏆

We still have a fantastic session working on impulse control, one hand on the dummy and one hand stopping the bleeding! 😂
