Did you know why you should not walk a dog for an hour before or after a meal?

This is to prevent bloat, a life-threatening condition where the stomach fills with gas and can twist. A large meal followed by vigorous exercise, even a walk, can cause gas build up and is a major risk factor for this severe condition, especially in deep-chested, large breeds. Giving your dog time to digest their food after eating, and to calm down after exercise, supports healthy digestion and reduces the risk of bloat.
