Been sheeping and diggering all week! 🚜🐑 Honestly so grateful for the friends who stepped up to help out.
But my goodness, the numbers are depressing. Just sent 19 lambs to auction and they averaged £60 each—and that’s BEFORE, feed, meds, non-stop graft, and auction fees.
A Tesco rep bought them. By the time that meat hits the shelves, the retail weight value is easily £230 to £280.
We do all the work, take all the risks, and the supermarkets take the profit.
If anyone has any independent contacts or better routes to market, please let me know.
