Dear Clients,

We are writing to let you know that the practice will be closed on Monday 7th September so that our team can attend the funeral service of Chris Hanson and pay our respects.

Chris sadly passed away peacefully in his sleep on 6th August. He was a hugely important part of our practice and its history, having helped establish the practice with his wife, Pam, in 1982. Over the years, Chris built many long-standing relationships with our clients, some of whom still ask after him today.

Chris began his veterinary career at the PDSA Hospital in the north west, having undertaken a House Surgeon position immediately after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in London, where he trained. He went on to dedicate more than 30 years to building and running the practice and played an important role in training many members of our nursing team. He would, we know, be immensely proud of the wonderful team we have today.

Sadly, following his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease, Chris retired quietly and did not have the opportunity to say goodbye to many of the clients he had known and cared for over so many years.

We would therefore like to extend a warm invitation to anyone who feels that Chris touched their lives to attend his funeral service and have the opportunity to pay their respects and say a final goodbye. We would also like to thank those that have expressed their regards so kindly to date.

The service will take place at Christ Church, Timperley. Full details of the service can be found below:

https://circlefunerals.co.uk/tributes/celebrating-the-life-of-chris-hanson/

We hope you will understand the decision to close the practice on this day as we come together as a team to remember and honour someone who was such an important part of the practice and its history.

While the practice is closed please call Woodcroft vets for any urgent or emergency veterinary care on 0161 4862355. The practice will reopen as usual Tuesday 8th September.

Chris’s family would love you to join them in celebrating his life at Christ Church on Monday 7 September at 12 noon. Following the service, Pam and the family would be delighted if you could join them at Bowdon Rugby Club from 2.00pm, where we can continue to remember Chris and share stories and ...

In light of the recent Competition and Markets Authority report, we’d like to take a moment to reassure our clients that we remain proudly independent.

As an independent practice, we control our own pricing and have always prioritized offering great value for money while offering a high standard of care. Our clinic is run by a veterinary team who are passionate about animals and deeply committed to our local community.

We provide clear cost estimates before any procedures, offer detailed itemised receipts, and have been assisting our clients in sourcing medications online with a written prescription for years. Our prices are transparently published on our website for your convenience.

We also have a fair and open complaints procedure and are always happy to discuss alternative treatment options whenever possible.

Thank you for your continued support of our small, independent veterinary clinic.
