🚨 Exciting News from Cedar Vets 🚨

From 7pm tomorrow evening (Monday 1st June), Cedar Vets will once again be providing our own Out of Hours Emergency Service, based at our Alton practice.

Earlier this week, we welcomed our fantastic Out of Hours team to the practice so they could meet the rest of the Cedar team ahead of launch. It was a lovely lunch filled with introductions, plenty of pizza, and of course, cake! 🍕🍰 We can't wait for you to get to know the wonderful people who will be caring for your pets when they need us most.

Our Directors, Charlie and Lara, are incredibly excited to be able to offer this service to our clients again.
Being able to provide our own Out of Hours care means we can offer continuity of care and peace of mind for our clients, knowing their pets are being looked after by the Cedar team whenever they need us.

Over the coming week, keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for answers to some frequently asked questions, as well as more opportunities to meet the members of our new Out of Hours team.

We're looking forward to this exciting new chapter and to being there for your pets, day and night. ❤️🐾

🍺 We’re proud to be supporting the local community by sponsoring a barrel of Rusty Moon Red Ale at this year’s Alton Beer Festival!

The festival takes place tonight and tomorrow at Alton College and raises vital funds for local charities, making it a fantastic event for a great cause.

If you’re heading along, make sure you keep an eye out for the Cedar Vets sponsored barrel and enjoy a pint while supporting charities that make a real difference in our community.

Cheers to a brilliant weekend at Alton Beer Festival! 🍻

Meet gorgeous Rhino 🐾💛

Rhino came to see Vet Emma after her owner noticed she wasn’t feeling quite like her usual happy self. After some blood and urine tests, Vet Emma was able to make a plan to help get Rhino back on the road to feeling better.

Despite not feeling her best, Rhino was still full of love and very kindly posed for some photos… although she was so happy her tail just wouldn’t keep still! 🥹✨

We’re all wishing this beautiful girl a speedy recovery 💕

It’s Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month 💙🐾

This month, we’re celebrating our incredible veterinary nurses and everything they do for our patients, clients, and team every single day.

Our nurses are truly the heart of the practice. From monitoring anaesthetics and taking blood samples, to performing dental x-rays and scale and polish procedures, their skills and knowledge are invaluable.

They provide exceptional nursing care to our sickest patients, making sure they are comfortable, cared for, and loved whilst staying with us. They are there for poorly pets, offering compassion and expert care when it’s needed most.

Our nurses also run a variety of clinics including nail clips, weight loss clinics, and senior pet checks, helping pets stay happy and healthy throughout every stage of life.
Quite simply, our practice could not run without them, and we are so grateful for everything they do 💕

Thank you to all veterinary nurses for your dedication, kindness, and hard work — you are amazing!

Oreo the sweet guinea pig came in to see Vet Tom as he hadn’t been feeling himself. His owners had noticed he was drinking more than usual and wasn’t keen on eating his hard food—both important signs that something wasn’t quite right.

Oreo was admitted for a gentle sedation so we could take a closer look at his teeth. Guinea pigs’ teeth grow continuously and are normally kept in check by eating fibrous, hard foods—but in Oreo’s case, they needed a trim, which Vet Tom carried out carefully.

To be thorough, Oreo also had an X-ray and ultrasound to rule out any bladder issues. Vet Tom very carefully took a blood sample (harder than it looks on a 1kg patient!) in case we needed to check any abnormalities.

He was an absolute star throughout, and we’re so pleased we could help get to the bottom of things 🐾

Handsome boy Sonar 🐾

Sonar, a lovely Labrador puppy, came in to see Vet Clodagh after his owners noticed a hard lump on his jaw. To help us get a closer look at what might be going on, Sonar was anaesthetised so we could take some X-rays.

He was incredibly brave throughout the whole process and handled everything like a champ. And of course, he couldn’t leave without posing for a photo — such a handsome boy! 📸💛
