💜 Today, has started with a moment of reflection on Gaynor’s Goal and everything that has happened since its launch and where we are now, especially with the Gaynor’s Goal Baton currently in the safe hands of 160 Provost Company (160 Pro Coy) 1 Military Police Brigade, Adjutant General's Corps British Army.
What a journey this Baton has already had since its first handover in Ireland on 4th July to Joe, travelling from Warrington, bringing people together and starting conversations along the way.
To think about the reach and awareness it can now create through 160 Pro Coy is incredibly humbling.
The Royal Military Police motto is ”Exemplo Ducemus”
“By Example Shall We Lead.”
That motto has a very personal meaning for Gaynor’s Goal. Gaynor and Paula were both Royal Military Police Veterans who sadly lost their fight against Ovarian Cancer and Patricia, Gaynor’s wife and the founder of Gaynor’s Goal, is also a Royal Military Police Veteran.
Service, courage, commitment and supporting others have always been at the heart of who they are and that is exactly what this Baton Challenge represents.
Every Baton Custodian is helping to lead by example: taking part, starting conversations, encouraging people to listen to their bodies and raising awareness of ovarian cancer and women’s health.
Because this challenge isn’t just about the miles the Baton travels. It’s about the conversations it creates, the awareness it raises and the positive actions it encourages.
From the St. Rocco's Hospice Colour Run, the female football tournament, Al’s Run Challenge and the incredible Black Tie Charity Dinner at Old Trafford, to now the Gaynor’s Goal Baton Challenge, the journey continues. 💜
Gaynor was determined during her time in the hospice to support St Rocco’s Hospice and raise awareness of ovarian cancer, so hopefully others wouldn’t have to experience what she did.
One of the most powerful parts of this journey has been hearing how the Baton has started conversations and encouraged people to take action about their own health.
That is why awareness matters.
Knowing your body, recognising when something doesn’t feel right, speaking to your GP and not ignoring symptoms can make a difference.
Patricia has been overwhelmed by the incredible people who have stood beside Gaynor’s Goal, from Al and his Run Challenge, to Pippa and the amazing female football tournament, the unforgettable Old Trafford Black Tie Charity Night, thanking Starling, Zanda, Robin, and so many more who supporting that evening and now every single person who has helped and is helping carry the Baton forward.
To every Baton Custodian, supporter, organiser, participant, donor and everyone who has shared our story or simply stood beside us... THANK YOU. 💜
Every mile, every event and every conversation helps keep Gaynor’s memory alive, supports St Rocco’s Hospice and shines a much-needed light on ovarian cancer and women’s health.
And now, with the Baton in the safe hands of 160 Pro Coy, we’re incredibly excited to see where this journey goes next and how many more people we can reach.
And because of popular demand, we’re delighted to announce that the Gaynor’s Goal Black Tie Charity Dinner will return on Saturday 12th June 2027! 🖤✨ (Start looking at hotels now)!
This EOI will give you the opportunity to register your interest in attending, https://forms.gle/ow1GmAPKZ3rMnDMA9 joining those who have already signed up and we hope that in the next month or so, we will be in a position to release the official ticket sales... EXCITING!!!
There is still so much more to do.
Gaynor’s wish was to make a difference, to support St Rocco’s Hospice, raise awareness of ovarian cancer and help ensure women’s health receives the awareness, understanding, research and attention it deserves.
This is bigger than one event.
Bigger than one charity challenge.
It is about continuing Gaynor’s legacy, encouraging women to take control of their health and making sure women’s voices are heard.
Gaynor’s legacy continues because of you.
Gaynor’s Goal continues because of you.
From all of us at Gaynor’s Goal... thank you. 💜
So we would invite you to like, share and comment on who and where you think 160 Pro Coy will hand the baton on to??? Lets get talking!
