A few photos from Inderbrook and Shackleford Kennel Club Good Citizens training . For those who braved the training out side at Shackleford where it seemed to rain every training day and the lucky ones who completed the Puppy Foundation in the warm and dry! It was a real pleasure to have been involved with you and your dogs training and assessments. I hope to meet you all again as you go through the Kennel Club Good citizen scheme up-to gold.

Happy Christmas to you all. Thank you Cherry for looking after us all this year. Thank you Miranda for the use of your facilities at the farm for training GP dogs L2 and L3 also Search. Thank you also to the ones that acted as carriers at various venues for the search dogs. (I need some volunteers in January for Woking) Take care all of you and enjoy the festive season.

This years drawing to an end and i must apologise for not making many posts to those of you that have followed. Happy Christmas to you all and may the New Year bring the things you hoped for. I look forward to the new year starting with running the puppy classes at Elstead Village Hall for the Inderbrook Dog Training Society. I should also be helping out with the Surrey and Sussex P D Trials in February. Looking forward to seeing you all again some time.

A break between classes on the Isle of Wight with our two dogs . Some good walks interspersed with problem solving and socialisation with other dogs and people. Both have enjoyed the walks and swims in the sea after which they love the rub down with a towel to dry them off.

a nice walk and catch up for owners and dogs down at the beach at Hayling Island. It didn’t seem that it was 3 years ago I ran a puppy course for this litter of Labradors. We often meet up for walks or a refresher training session.

Great news i have to day been to see a 5 acre venue in Ash suitable for L3 tracking and search person open and building. An ideal place to run dog training related workshops. I now need to source some additional equipment for agility.

Damp first day back to training at Shackleford today. Some of the handlers and dogs have obviously done some training through the Festive brake and did it show with dogs completing 2 minutes down stay of lead with distractions. One and a half minutes sit stay again with distractions. Retrieves back to hand and then finish. Various heelwork patterns on lead and off lead with crossovers. Remember the 3 R,s and how to back chain together. Don’t judge your dog on what other handlers can get their dogs to do. They are probably practising and training more often. A good mornings training together thank you.

A small session on nursery tracking and laying scent pads with the use of food. Next step next week getting to move away from the scent pad.

New classes are starting on Wednesday mornings at Shackleford on the 22nd January. Classes for all breeds working towards KC Bronze,Silver and Gold awards. We also cover search for property and Tracking. Happy new year to you all.

A morning spent with pupils and staff at the Green Room School Kingsley with P Puppy Ember. A good exercise for her environmental training mixing and mingling with them all. The dog interacted well as did some of the pupils playing with balls and tugs getting her to retrieve and pull. They also did some basic search for those toys which the pupils hid around the barn. Ember and I will be visiting the school again in the new year. Ember was borne 6 months to day and is developing into a good dog. Thank you to The Green Room School. The picture on the left of her between a pair of wellingtons when we first got her, the next one was taken last week. She has grown and now weighs 30 kilos

Congratulations to you all and your Dogs for achieving the Kennel Club Silver Good Citizen Award. You now can go forward and do the Gold, its not so hard as you have passed the Bronze and Silver award. Keep up the training and being a responsible dog owner.
