✨ Exciting News! ✨

I wanted to share a little update with you all...

I have now joined Snazzy Swimmers Hydrotherapy Pool for two days a week! 🐾💦

Many of you know that I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge and experience within the dog industry, and this opportunity allows me to do exactly that while working alongside more amazing dogs and their owners.

Most importantly, A Dog's Best Friend isn't going anywhere! ❤️

I will still be continuing my dog training and behaviour work and will be fitting in as many dogs as possible around my new hydrotherapy days. Supporting dogs and their families through training and behaviour remains my passion, and I'm committed to continuing to provide the same level of support and service that you know and trust.

In fact, having experience in both training and hydrotherapy will only strengthen my understanding of canine health, wellbeing, movement, and behaviour, helping me support dogs even more holistically.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business. I'm incredibly excited for this next chapter and can't wait to see where it leads! 🐶✨

✨ Smarty Pants Award 🎉

Albie has been working with me since June. He was very anxious around new people in the home and could also be reactive to both dogs and people when out and about.

To explain our starting point as best as possible, during my first session with him there wasn't a single break in the barking. Even when he was working for me, any movement in his direction would cause him to retreat while continuing to bark.

Anyone who has worked with me will know I'm a huge advocate for consensual handling. I never try to touch any of my customers until they've personally asked me to (and yes, I'm definitely talking about the dogs before anyone makes that joke 🤣).

From that very first session, Albie would play with toys with me, take treats from me, and even nudge me towards the garden because apparently I wasn't getting there fast enough! But despite all of that, he never chose to ask for physical contact. No strokes, no cuddles.
(I will insert here, Albie is a very affectionate dog with his safe people as you'll see in the video, it's not that he doesn't enjoy handling)

During our last session, we had a tiny breakthrough. He briefly asked for a stroke, then almost seemed to catch himself, and it didn't happen again.
Fast forward to today...

We turned the distraction levels up to maximum and headed to Anstey Park. Albie absolutely smashed it. Very little barking, brilliant engagement, fantastic listening skills, and a recall that his owners have worked incredibly hard on, with a 100% response rate today. He even enjoyed a successful meet-and-greet with a new dog.

And then, to top it all off, he started initiating cuddles with me. 🥹
To say I felt privileged would be an understatement.

The progress Albie and his owners have made together has been incredible to watch, and today was a reminder that sometimes the biggest wins aren't always the most obvious ones. ❤️

🐾After 6 intensive days, I'm over the moon to say I've completed the practical training for the Level 4 Canine Hydrotherapy at the amazing Greyfriars Veterinary Rehabilitation & Hydrotherapy Referrals. I met some amazing, highly knowledgeable and talented people and had the pleasure of swimming so many fantastic dogs too! I can't wait to continue building my skills with Snazzy Swimmers ( Groovy Grooming ) and applying all I've learnt to my training and Behavioural customers of course too 🥳✨
