This is a cat dental xray which shows 3 roots in tooth 207. Only... It's meant to have 2 roots!
This is rarer than finding a 4 leaf clover!

Thank you to Milo's mum for giving us permission to share his unusual teeth. They're as unique as he is!

This poor orange was viscously attacked by an unnamed staff member earlier this morning. Luckily, vet student Alex is seeing practice with us this week and used her budding surgical skills to put the poor little thing back to together.
She stuffed the orange with cotton wool and used a variety of different suture techniques to restore this orange back to normal.
The orange has been referred to a fruit rehabilitation centre and is expected to make a full recovery and be returned to the wild.

๐Ÿฑ Patient Spotlight ๐Ÿ‘‘

This beautiful lady is Silver, a senior citizen who first presented at the clinic for overgrooming and itching her backend. Initially this was controlled with a longterm steroid jag, and Silver was comfortable.
However, in autumn of last year something wasn't right, and Silver was scooting and seemed really irritated by her bum. The jag didn't seem to be helping with her discomfort, and her owner agreed to let Silver undergo investigation ๐Ÿ”ฌ

Unfortunately, this is where Silver's story gets really sad. Under sedation we were able to get a proper look at her v***a and va**na, and found several tumours lining the delicate tissue of her urogenital tract. After a discussion with her owner, we agreed to go through with debulking surgery (as the tumours were so diffuse through the tissue full removal would be impossible). Sections of tumour were sent off to the lab Silver recovered like a champ after her surgery and was finally more comfortable.

The results from the lab came back and it wasn't good news. Silver has an incredibly rare form of cancer called Vulval Adenocarcinoma, with only a handful of cats globally diagnosed with this condition. And unfortunately it's a terminal diagnosis ๐Ÿ˜ž

However, Silver isn't a quitter ๐Ÿ’ช She has been incredibly strong and is fighting this cancer and living a happy and pain free life at home. With the support of her owner she is thriving and still has excellent quality of life, enjoying the sunshine and playtime whenever she feels like it!
Whilst Silver's cancer will eventually catch up with her one day, for now this little warrior is taking each day in her stride and proving that with lots of love, support from her family, and a little medication, that anything is possible ๐ŸŒŸ
Special thanks to Silver's owner for consenting to share her story and help educate on this rare form of cancer ๐ŸŒˆ
