Some of the Mckenzie's team joined the Greyhound Awareness League on their monthly walk and Jeanette and Emma surprised them by presenting the charity with a cheque for £1000.
We chose the charity and entered them on our behalf in IVCs quarterly draw for a Community Grant and were successful. The Greyhound Awareness League (GAL) has a particular place in our hearts as our receptionist Jeanette got her first (of many) greyhound, Coney, from the charity and they have helped us rehome several others in need of help.
GAL was founded in 1998, run entirely by volunteers and is a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming ex-racing greyhounds, and abandoned sighthounds and lurchers. These lovely dogs are naturally very calm and loving and can make wonderful family pets .
If you are interested in finding out more about GAL, want to donate to the charity or are considering rehoming a sighthound, go to galhounds.org.uk.
