Dog Walker OOTD

Some of my favourites today for this in between weather!

fleece gilet- perfect for chilly starts that turn into warm afternoons

waterproof bum bag- holds everything I need and keeps treats, poo bags and my phone dry when the British weather inevitably changes its mind

barefoot walking boots- probably my most-worn piece of dog walking kit! Comfortable, lightweight and ideal for spending hours on my feet every day

This is the life...

A week of dog walks, muddy boots, tennis balls and plenty of rain!

Every dog in this reel is part of Team Harris Hounds and every one of them keeps me busy in their own way.

Some need miles of walking, some need time to sniff and explore, some are happiest chasing a ball, and some just enjoy being out and about. No two are ever the same.

The weather isn’t always great, my car is permanently covered in dog hair, and I’m fairly sure I spend half my evenings washing leads and towels... but I wouldn’t swap it!

Not a bad way to spend the week 🐾

Everyone say hello to Trevor!

If you’re thinking he looks a little familiar, you’re not imagining it!

Trevor is a Tibetan Terrier just like my boys, Tobi and Coda, and since arriving for his holiday stay we’ve already had several moments of wondering which dog is which 😂

He’s staying with us for a couple of weeks while his mum enjoys a well-deserved break, and he’s settling in well. Whether he’s supervising my husband while he works, helping himself to a comfy spot for a nap, exploring the garden with my daughter, or hanging out with the boys, he’s taking everything in his stride.

Everyone say hello to Trevor!

Our newest home boarding guest has arrived, and if you know my boys, Tobi and Coda, you might need to do a double take! 😅

Trevor is a Tibetan Terrier just like them, and honestly, there have already been several moments where I’ve looked across the room and had to work out which dog I’m actually looking at.

He’s staying with us for a couple of weeks while his mum enjoys a very well-deserved holiday, and he started to get settled in.

One of the things I love most about home boarding is seeing dogs relax and make themselves completely at home. After all, that’s exactly what it’s designed to be, a genuine home-from-home experience.

Welcome to Team Harris Hounds, Trevor. We’re looking forward to having you with us for the next couple of weeks 🐾

The dogs of Harris Hounds!

Every dog in this reel has their own personality, their own quirks and their own favourite things.

We’ve got the ball fanatics 🎾, the professional sniffers 👃, the puddle jumpers 💦, the serial rollers 🌿, the cuddle monsters 🥰 and the dogs who somehow manage to be all of the above.

Some join me for group walks, some prefer one-to-one adventures, some come for daycare and some make themselves completely at home when they stay for boarding.

What they all have in common is that they’re part of the Harris Hounds family.

Harris Hounds Holidays = total relaxation!

Baxter and Poppy have settled in beautifully and seem to have made themselves completely at home. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen either of them awake for more than five minutes at a time today 😂

From taking over the dog beds, to finding the comfiest spot in the kitchen, to somehow managing to fall asleep halfway up the stairs, they’ve really embraced the Harris Hounds lifestyle.

This is one of my favourite things about home boarding. After plenty of walks, sniffing, exploring and spending time with our family, the dogs can simply relax and enjoy all the comforts of home. No kennels, no concrete runs, just sofas, beds, cuddles and plenty of company.

Now the question is... which sleeping spot will they choose next!

Just a normal Thursday at Harris Hounds!

Four dogs under my roof, five client dogs on the schedule, sunshine, torrential rain, muddy paws, tennis balls, river paddles and a nursery run thrown in for good measure 😅

Today started with home boarders Baxter and Poppy joining Tobi and Coda for their morning walk. Followed up with walks with Clea, Buddy and Ami, whilst also welcoming a brand new face to the team- Luna!

The weather couldn’t quite decide what it was doing, so we experienced a little bit of everything. One minute we were hiding in the woods from a downpour, the next we were enjoying blue skies and sunshine.

By 4pm I was back home with four dogs waiting for me before swapping dog walker mode for mum mode and heading off for the nursery pick-up.
