✨ DESTRIA SHOW RIDER AUDITIONS ✨

With a big summer ahead and the Destria performance team expanding, we are now opening TWO new team rider positions!

We’re looking for confident, kind and gutsy riders to train with the team and perform in our summer shows, including a musical formation ride and skill drills. We're looking for presence, personality, and a love for performing. Riders who aren’t afraid of a challenge, can bring energy to a crowd, and want to be part of something exciting.

You do NOT need to be a polished competition rider, but you should have a strong flatwork foundation. We’re looking for natural confidence, good instincts, and riders with feel.

Our stunt horses are talented, forward, sensitive performance horses, so applicants must be comfortable riding horses with energy and personality. This is not riding school riding - we want riders with grit, confidence, and the a horse-first attitude.

Team riders get:

✨ Weekly team training
✨ Elite coaching
✨ Summer show opportunities
✨ A place in a high-energy, welfare-first performance team

Must be 18+

This is not a full time commitment - just weekly training designed to fit around work/study, and summer weekend performances.

✨ Liberty & Connection Experience - train with Brugie

Saturday 9th May | 2pm – 4pm

I don’t ever usually offer sessions like this - but after so many requests I’m opening up one very rare and incredible opportunity to train with Brugie.

He’s my most advanced liberty horse, but more than that, he’s a horse that teaches you. The kind that shows you what’s possible when everything is in place - your breathing and body, your feel, your intention.

Working with a horse like Brugie is a HUGE learning advantage. It gives you a reference point most people never get… and it’s really not something I offer often.

🐎 The experience includes:

• Liberty session working directly with Brugie
• Small group (max 5) - everyone gets their own time with him
• Guided support throughout so you can really feel and understand what’s happening
• Theory workshop on my training approach

You’ll spend time in the arena, working hands-on and getting a real sense of connection - not chasing a result, not “doing the tricks”, but actually feeling what’s going on underneath it all.

You'll become aware of your body positioning, your feet, and your emotional intention towards the horse… the subtle things that quietly change everything, and that you can take away and implement into your own training at home.

We’ll work in a small group, and I’ll guide you through it as you go so you can recognise what you’re feeling in the moment.

Afterwards, we’ll sit down and talk it through. We’ll go into each person’s own experiences and journeys - communication, problem solving, and anything you need clarity on with your own horse. You’ll get individual input, and you’ll learn just as much from listening to others as you will from your own time.

WHAT. A. WEEKEND.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended this weekend’s “The Legends of The North” Equine Photography Workshop workshop at Destria!! It was such a special weekend and getting to share it with such kind, talented, and lovely awesome humans made it even better 🥰🥰

A huge thank you to Simone Stocks - Model for modelling the Kelpie on Saturday, and to Lauren for bringing the Black Pegasus to life today so beautifully. … both in the cold Scottish climate 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👀 a pair of dedicated women right there.

Massive thank you as well to Plimbley Horse Training for her incredible horsemanship and for working so hard with the horses all weekend. So much of what came together did so because of her care and devotion, and her hard work behind the scenes. Not forgetting Amy and Fiona for helping on the ground.

It was honestly wild in the best way to see the looks I’d made with my own bare cold hands come to life in front of me in this environment, and to be able to share that vision with people who were so supportive, creative, and talented. That means a lot to me.

Of course not forgetting Brugie, Twiglet, and Tundi the incredible horses that are the absolute heart of this whole event. We would be nowhere without them!

Well done to all our participants of this morning's Introduction To Trick Riding! Everyone threw themselves into the session wholeheartedly, and learnt a wide range of figures! As well as some vaulting! Great effort everyone 🔥 here's some highlights:

Ever fancied trying trick riding? This is your chance to train with one of the UK’s most experienced trick riding coaches - in a session designed especially for first-timers.

Join us next Saturday 7th at Destria’s Headquarters for a friendly, supportive, confidence-building introduction to trick riding - using our simulator horse (yes, not a live horse!).

Perfect if you’ve always been curious but never known where to start!

You’ll be:

✨ Learning in a small group of other beginners.
✨ Guided step-by-step by an exceptionally experienced coach.
✨ Practising safely on our simulator horse.
✨ Building confidence, strength and coordination.
✨ Supported in a no-pressure, no-judgement environment.

You won’t be thrown in at the deep end - just encouraged, supported and coached properly from the very beginning!
