No dog ever died from missing one walk🚨

If the pavement is too hot for your hand for five seconds, it's definitely too hot for paws. During the heatwave, stick to walks at dusk and dawn to avoid burnt paw pads and heatstroke, and if in doubt, don't go out.

☀️ HEATWAVE WARNING ☀️

As temperatures rise, please remember our pets can struggle in the heat much more quickly than we do 🐾

A few simple steps can help keep them safe:
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh water
🌳 Keep pets cool and in the shade
🚫 Avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day
🐾 Check pavements before walks — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws
🚗 Never leave pets in parked cars, even for a few minutes

Signs of heatstroke can include excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, lethargy and collapse. If you’re worried, contact your vet immediately.

Let’s all do our bit to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable during the hot weather
