Had the pleasure of having Sam from
Samantha mcenhill backing and schooling our lovely neighbour, help exercise the gorgeous Roxy while I’m recovering from a trapped nerve in my back. It’s stopping me from doing what I love, which is incredibly frustrating, I must say!

A huge thank you to Sam for helping out and keeping Roxy happy and exercised for the time being❤️🐴

Ever wondered why we poo pick our horse fields by machinery? 🐴🚜💩

It’s not just about keeping the fields looking tidy — it’s a really important part of good pasture management. Regularly removing droppings helps reduce the build-up of worms and parasites, keeps grazing areas cleaner and healthier, and helps make the most of the land.

With horses producing a surprising amount of manure every day, hand-picking large fields simply isn’t practical. Our machinery allows us to cover much larger areas efficiently, saving time while making sure the fields are maintained to a high standard.

Healthy horses start with healthy fields — and a clean field is a happy field! 💚🐎

What a difference 24 hours makes! ❤️🐴

Yesterday afternoon we noticed that our little Shetland, Roy, just wasn’t himself. He was very lethargic, had no appetite and then started showing signs of colic — which is very unlike him. I’m not one to take any chances, so I immediately called Loch Leven Equine Practice and soon Davide was on the yard giving our wee boy the best possible treatment.

It turns out that some barley from the shed, which had just been harvested, had leaked through into the Shetlands’ field without us noticing. Unfortunately, both Roy and Kenny had managed to feast on it. 😳

After pain relief, sedation, stomach tubing and a couple of days of no grass, I’m absolutely delighted to say that BOTH boys are doing great today! ❤️

It was a very worrying day, but we’re so grateful to Davide and the team at Loch Leven Equine Vets for their quick response and excellent care as always.

A huge reminder that these wee ponies can certainly get themselves into mischief when you least expect it! 😂🐴

Here’s to Roy and Kenny today being back to their happy, cheeky selves! ❤️
