I'm delighted to say I now have a limited number of spaces available for group dog walks with Cariads Canine Cwtch!

After struggling through the heat over the last few weeks, it feels so lovely to finally have a bit of a breeze! 🌿💚

The dogs (and me! 😅) are definitely appreciating the cooler weather, and it makes such a difference to getting out and enjoying our walks safely again.

Here's hoping this lovely weather sticks around for a while! 🐾🍃

🌡️🐶 TOO HOT FOR THEM… not just uncomfortable — dangerous.

As temperatures rise, so does the risk to our dogs. Heatstroke can happen incredibly quickly, especially when humidity is high, pavements are hot, and dogs are still being exercised as normal.

Please remember:
🐾 Dogs do NOT cool down like humans
🐾 Hot pavements can burn paws in seconds
🐾 Humidity makes it much harder for dogs to cool themselves
🐾 Some breeds are at much higher risk than others

If in doubt — skip the walk.
A missed walk is far safer than a medical emergency.

Instead of long walks try:
🧩 Enrichment games
🦴 Lick mats & puzzle toys
🌳 Garden sniff sessions
💦 Paddling pools & shaded play
🧠 Training sessions indoors

Watch for signs of overheating:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Weakness or wobbling
⚠️ Bright red gums
⚠️ Vomiting or collapse

If you suspect heatstroke:
❄️ Move your dog somewhere cool
💧 Offer small amounts of water
📞 Contact your vet immediately

One of my favourite sounds in the world… a snoring dog 🐾💤

He’s usually such a restless boy — the type that wakes if I so much as breathe differently — so when the snores start, I know he’s properly relaxed, feeling safe, settled, and truly resting.

It’s little moments like this that remind me why I love what I do. A well-walked, mentally fulfilled dog doesn’t just come home tired… they come home calm, content, and ready to properly switch off ❤️

We’ve been here patiently waiting for the rain to stop…

Safe to say it’s not got the memo 😅🌧️

So there’s only one thing for it — waterproofs on and off we go to brave the elements!

The dogs are ready… I’m less convinced 🤣🐾

Just dropped off another load of blankets, coats, and VERY muddy dog towels 🐾

I started using Half Soaked Laundry a few weeks ago, and honestly it has been such a huge help. Having all the dogs’ towels taken care of frees up so much of my time so I can focus on everything else that needs doing.

The service is absolutely amazing — I truly can’t thank you enough!
