🤩🤗🤩 Vella Update 🤩🤗🤩
We took Vella for her check-up at the clinic this afternoon. Can you believe it's been 2 weeks since she had her surgery already??
Thumper loaded so well 🙌 and apart from eating a bit of a window frame and *almost* getting into a drawer full of needles 😬😱🙈 he behaved so well!
The vet was absolutely delighted with how well Vella's wound is healing up 🎉Not least because it means he doesn't have to try and do anything else with her 🤣🙈 He was very polite but it was clear that she wasn't exactly a model patient 😬🙈
He took several x-rays and the big black infection in her jaw bone is nearly completely gone! She's got some extra antibiotics to make sure it clears up completely, and we're under strict instructions to keep a very close eye on her - any signs of infection, discomfort, discharge or bad smell we have to contact the vet immediately. But.... fingers and toes crossed 🤞🤞🤞 she's made it through!!

As for our wedding next year... we haven't received the final vet bill yet but it's going to be substantial. We've decided to scrap the proper meal with starters and mains etc, and just do a big buffet with our homegrown sheep. There's a lot of people who will be travelling from all over and it's too much to ask them to cook their own dishes. However - we're not going to have a proper bar. We are making a bar out of wooden pallets and we'll have jars of garnishes, plenty of ice, and a big selection of drinks we already have stashed in the cupboard for people to help themselves. It'll be bring your own bottle, whatever you want to drink for yourself or to share. After all, we're Scottish and the drinks are the most important part, right?!
We've scrapped our wedding favours idea and are going to do homemade things instead. We're growing our own flowers & saving old jars for the table decorations. It's already at the farm so there's no venue to pay for either. It's just going to be brilliant having everybody important to us together and that's what it's all about ❤ Plus Vella being OK is worth every penny!!
