First hack in a very long time today!! The ponies were all brilliant 🥰 the original plan was to put Scott on Caprice and lead Razzle because she's just getting over a haematoma between her front legs. Literally I put that advert up for her and she instantly bit Caprice on the ass and got kicked 🙈 horses!!!

Anyway, the swelling has gone right down and a walking hack is less activity than she does on her own in the field, so I thought I'd lead her out and get the work ball rolling. However - Caprice came in like a balloon 🎈 spooking at absolutely everything so I decided she needs a bit more work than Razzle!

I have to say Razzamatazz was excellent 👌🏼 not every warmblood 5yo mare you can tack up after weeks of not being touched and hack out in a group with zero problems. She did get a bit buzzed in the open field, but nothing more than a little sideways jig jog and a couple of head tosses. Once she figured out we were just walking, she chilled out again. We passed a few quite speedy delivery vans, a couple of big tractors with seeders and harrows on the back, a noisy motorbike, gigantic barky dogs, ponies in a field having a good ol' hooley and nothing phased her. She even took lead file and was totally fine, like she's done it every day of her life. Very very proud of her.

Jack-Jack hasn't been out either and he was good as actual gold 🥇 not putting a foot wrong with our Linguifamily student.

Caprice will get there, she's very sweet and genuine, she just has a real lack of confidence being blind in one eye 👁️ and if she's not sure or spooked, her go to is to either reverse at top speed or spin, then ask questions later. She was better even by the end of the ride today so she's not going to take long to rewire a little bit.

Panda was a legend as always. It's just such a privilege to have her, especially after her big colic scare this summer. She's one of a kind. In bad need of a haircut! (I blame her Andalusian roots - she grows the biggest thickest mane in like 5 minutes flat!)

The Shetlands were SO HAPPY today! We moved them out onto the corridor now we've got the sheep 🐑 out in the tupping field. It won't last them for long but it's full of actual grass 🤩 they were in heaven! Then a short time later they were all in grass comas 🤣 but still really happy 😊
