Hot pregnant mares 🥵 the Warmbloods were sweating buckets in the 35°C heat but the Arabs were pretty comfortable! Bella was far too hot & pregnant to be social. It's never too hot for Lola butt scratches 😂 Vella has really started to change shape... not long now!

Not the usual thing that you have to fish out of the water trough!

I went across to feed Jack & Pimo yesterday and there was almighty splashing coming from their trough! A young buzzard had obviously gone in for a drink & had got too saturated to get out again.

Buzzard-fishing is now one of the long list of things you can do with a shavings fork!

Surprisingly the boys weren't too flabbergasted by their feathery floater! We put the Buzzard up on a bale to let him dry out, and when we went back later it was gone. Glad we found it and it wasn't stuck all night. Also very lucky the boys need their water topped up and it could reach the bottom!

Pixie went on a wee road trip to Brittany today to meet her new boyfriend Darwin de l'Ormeau 💕 Fingers crossed 🤞 for a Pixie foal just as nice as the Sprite next year 😍

Happiest Birthday to our Jemima Puddle Duck 💗 31 years old!

We bought Gem from Dabbs in 1999. She's by Carnaval Drum, she has a huge personality, she's super sweet but certainly no push-over 😂 Still sound & going strong 🫶 She's just the most amazing little mare & it's a privilege to be her people 🤗

She's looking fab & loved her birthday carrots 🥕🥕🥕 in spite of the rain & her rather damp birthday!

Clever Lucy Tait remembered today is Sark's birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 so he was delighted with some carrots 🥕 in his dinner (he prefers melon skin 🍈 because he's such a fancy cob 🤣 but we had carrots 🥕) He also still looked pretty pleased with himself after yesterday 😊 so a great day for Sarkani!

Dummy dressing day! We had a slight interruption when our gîte guests arrived - but no awkward questions 😬 thankfully! Apart from that it went pretty well 🤗 so well in fact that we had a mare in season for Sark so we AI'd her! Sark was impeccably behaved as per usual. Fingers crossed 🤞 our first foal for 2027 is being made as we speak!

Yes Scott did ride the dummy to check it out for comfort 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It's been so manic here today that I *almost* forgot the Chilli Bean's 22nd birthday!! He's had a liberal application of carrots 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 and some good scratches so I think all is forgiven. He looks like a burst couch but I AM going to make time to give him a good long groom & tame that mane! Still my best boy 🧡 21 and a half years together ❤️🦄🌶🥕🧡
