AD | Dit is echt een fantastische plek om met je hond te ontdekken! 🐾

Voor een van de ORIJEN Approved Trails gingen we deze keer naar het Kootwijkerzand, als onderdeel van de ‘Verleg je grenzen’ campagne van ORIJEN.

De route is 3,7 km en loopt door een super bijzonder landschap met enorme zandvlaktes en bos. Mijn honden vonden vooral het zand fantastisch en hebben zich hier helemaal uitgeleefd 🫶🏼

Wij hebben de route uiteindelijk nog iets verlengd, maar ook zonder die extra kilometers is dit echt een hele leuke en afwisselende wandeling. En vergeet na afloop niet je ORIJEN patch op te halen! 🐾

A dog-friendly escape in the south of France 🇫🇷🐾

We spent seven nights in Saint-Sylvestre-sur-Lot, France, and this apartment turned out to be such a lovely base for a summer getaway with our three dogs.

The apartment itself is cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including two air-conditioned bedrooms, which was definitely a big plus during the warm July days! ☀️ The living room stayed surprisingly cool too.

But the outdoor space is what really made this place special. We had our own terrace and access to the beautiful property, a saltwater pool, and even direct access to the river. The dogs absolutely loved being able to cool off in the water, and I got to take them out on my SUP several times.

And there’s plenty to explore nearby too — from Château de Bonaguil to the beautiful villages of Pujols and Penne-d’Agenais. 🇫🇷

We’ve absolutely loved exploring the ORIJEN Approved Trails together 🐾🌲

So far we’ve completed the Amsterdamse Bos and Schoorlse Duinen routes, and both have been such fun walks.
I really like the idea behind these trails: they’re a great excuse to discover places you might not have visited otherwise, while collecting a patch at the end of each adventure. It makes every hike feel just that little bit more special.

We’re heading off on our France road trip this week, but once we’re back, I’m already looking forward to ticking off the next ORIJEN Approved Trail 🏅

France is easily one of my favourite countries to travel with my dogs 🇫🇷🐾
Every trip reminds me just how dog-friendly it is, and that’s exactly why we’re heading back again at the end of this week.

The preparations have officially started, but before we set off, I wanted to share a few of our favourite dog-friendly spots we’ve discovered over the years:
