The Twilight Retirement Home for Dogs is a registered association providing an oasis of love and tranquillity in a family home for old, sick and disabled dogs.

It’s about having the best of life to the very moment of crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Assoc Twilight W242001328

Twilight was established in 2009 and since then has seen more than 300 dogs pass through its gates. It has inspired many people to welcome an old or disabled dog into their life. Nestled in the verdant countryside of the French Perigord Vert, this is the family home of Leeanne and Mich

ael Whitley. They were inspired to create Twilight after losing their elderly dog Kizzy, and needing to find a friend for their remaining happy retriever, Teg. It became evident, searching the pounds and refuges, that if you were an old dog, life was not always so good, and your ending might be premature and/or without dignity. Twilight now provides all that a dog needs to make him or her as well and as comfortable as possible for their remaining days.

The Twilight annual dog show took place at La Charrue with Carol and Dave providing drinks and food, hosting the event. Everyone who participated enjoyed the afternoon with various events. Musical sits, agility, sausages eating and much more. The afternoon ended with the prize for best in show and judges overall favorite pudding. The weather was kind to all, ensuring everyone stayed cool. A charity swim was held and a cheque for 800 euros was presented to Paul for Twilight. A marvellous amount. Thank you La Charrue. Thank you to all those that took part to make the afternoon a great success.

Newbie Alert ‼️
Time to meet sweet little Kahlo. She is 15 years old. She is half Pomeranian, quarter Lhasa Apso, Quarter Bichon Frise. She is named Kahlo after the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
This dear little pudding is going deaf and poorly sighted, but she is in fine fettle for her age. Sadly her life long mums situation has become untenable to be able to keep her, so we are delighted to have found her a fabulous family home in Twilight outreach. The photos you see here are only àn hour after she arrived, she is going to settle well we all feel. Thank you Rachel, now with three Twilight outreach puds and her own two …it’s a fabulous family . Welcome Kahlo, no end of days stress for you little one ###
