In 1966, breeder Nikki Horner decided to create a cat that looked like panther. She crossed sable Burmese with black American Shorthairs, eventually creating what is today the Bombay. It has a heavy, robust body from both breeds. The body and head resemble the Burmese, but the body is slightly longer and the profile not as short. The shiny black coat lies closely against the body. Bombays are very people-oriented and do well with children and other pets. Discover more about the Bombay at https://cfa.org/breed/bombay/
