I don’t often talk about the energy aspects of Equine Touch as energy work can be a bit off the wall for some people and generally the horsey set are practical, down to earth people.
However, there were 2 things that happened recently which I wanted to share.
To start with, I will admit, I was not particularly signed up to the energy side when I first started training. I knew Equine Touch worked and having led a working life in science, I was much more focussed on the tangible, manual aspects of the technique, however I soon found that I was affected by some horse’s energy during a session in a way I could not explain. I now accept and enjoy this as part of the connection during a session.
The horse featured belongs to a client who kindly took the previous video clips that I have shared. Before living with my client, this horse was used as a therapy horse. Well, all I can say is, he had soooo much energy stored that he released through the session. In stages I got a really muzzy head and low grade headache from him, palpitations in my chest and weird feelings in my stomach. I have had the muzzy head feeling and tiredness from quite a few others, but never the chest palpitations and feelings in my gut. It was very bizarre, but he obviously needed to release all this.
2nd thing - yesterday I went to offer an Equine Touch session to my own mare who is arthritic and therefore carries quite a lot of tension. She is also a mare who does things on her own terms and sometimes she does not want to be touched (as with a standard Equine Touch session) even though she is very happy to have hard scratches where she dictates ..and no-where else!!
So yesterday was a ‘no thank you to being touched’ day. So instead I just held my hands near her with intention and focussed on her areas of tension. Note - I am not trained in Reiki at all!! So after a few minutes she performed a superb stretch behind her with her right hind, which I have never seen her do before, and then a tight flex with her left hind (the worst arthritic hock), before going for a long doze with her nose propping her head up on the gate.
Clearly something happened!!! It was amazing to experience.
So thinking about my client’s horse, I am left with the question - who helps the therapy horses? If they are taking on human emotions, energy and trauma, how are they being helped to release it afterwards… just a thought!!
If you have any questions about how Equine Touch can help your horse, please get in touch via messenger, or you can also find a contact form on my website (link in comments).
