Noopy is a gentle giant, he is ok chien, chats, enfants and clean in the house
He is calm but he is strong and pulls a little when he wants to go and sniff something

Good morning, everyone!
Bonjour to you all!

Why such a greeting, you might ask?

Because, thanks to our English and French volunteers, who have gone out of their way to ensure the animals’ comfort, our residents’ days at the shelter are a little less dreary.

From 6 am, in the cool of the morning, the first volunteers arrive. This allows the dogs to go out for a walk. Meanwhile, the kennels are cleaned, dogs are rotated so that some can go for a walk whilst others enjoy some ‘free time’ in the enclosure, and they are fed and given attention. The kennels are protected from the sun by sheets and towels that are sprayed with water, and large tarpaulins stretched over the open kennels. Inside, the doors are left open and the fans are on.
‘Pools’ are set up for those who don’t destroy them – they’re very much appreciated.

As for the cats, there’s plenty to do there too; the carers arrive a little later to make sure everyone’s okay – litter trays, fresh water, cleaning, treatments, care and cuddles. And our little Dune gets to go outside.

Around 4–5 pm, new teams arrive. Given the temperatures, there are no outings outside the shelter; the ground is too hot for their paw pads and they’d risk heatstroke on a walk. The dogs get a little relaxation time in the park. Our brave volunteers water the kennels and mop the floors.

And late in the evening, a few volunteers come back to let the dogs out for a walk, freshen up the kennels and give them some attention – the same goes for the cats.

This is what life is like at the shelter during this heatwave.

Without these volunteers who give up their time, none of this would be possible.

Thank you all for being there by our side, every day, whatever the weather – but even more so today, when it’s particularly difficult and despite the mounting fatigue.

Quelle semaine…
Cette semaine a été particulièrement difficile pour Galia et tous les bénévoles présents , quelle soit la météo, au quotidien. Nous avons malheureusement perdu deux de nos protégés :
Le petit Simba, puis, 24 heures plus t**d, notre beau Oliver
Par respect pour eux, nous avons choisi une crémation individuelle.
C'est un dernier hommage que nous leur devons, mais cette dépense imprévue n'était pas prévue dans notre budget. Si vous souhaitez nous aider, quelques euros suffisent.
Chaque don nous permettra d'offrir à Simba et Oliver le départ digne qu'ils méritent.
