Axarquia Animal Rescue

22/10/2026

We are very sorry to announce that there will be no Axarquia Animal Rescue (AAR) dog show and market this year.

As you will know we have held this event at Puerta Niza in Benajaraffe for many years. Sadly the venue is under new ownership and we have been told that we can no longer hold our charity fundraising show there. It’s a massive disappointment for us.

We have been hard at work trying to find an alternative venue, but have had to decide that we just can’t hold the show this year. But, we will be working hard behind the scenes to get in it place for next year!

Recommendations for venues gratefully received – we need:

To be on the coast with easy access
Large enough venue for 70+ dogs and 200+ people
Space for 20 market stalls
Parking and toilet facilities
Ideally bar/snack facilities available

Sponsor found - thank you

This cute little boy was dumped out of a car. He is now safe in a lovely foster home getting the love and care he deserves after being unceremoniously abandoned.

He now needs a sponsor to name him and help us with a donation to get him ready for his forever home. He’s a lovely, friendly and trusting little chap in spite of his horrible experience.

Please consider donating 50 eur to become his sponsor and give him a name. You will receive a certificate and photo as a keepsake.

Please email:

and help us to help him towards a brighter future.

Many thanks.

Alfie is a friendly, energetic five-year-old German Shepherd who desperately needs a foster family.
Alfie has now been in kennels for nine months. He´s having basic training, walks well on a lead and his recall has improved. He loves to travel in the car and is calm and relaxed at the vet.
This loyal boy spends most of his day locked in a kennel with only mealtimes and exercise breaks to look forward to.
Alfie will make a great companion in a household that is willing to devote time to training and has land for him to exercise or access to wide open spaces. He needs someone who has the energy to bring out the best in him.
Alfie is good with older children and other dogs but he can´t be homed with cats.
Alfie is not a sofa dog. He is a working dog who needs focus, a regular routine and leadership. You could be that leader to help make Alfie the best boy he can be.
If you can´t help Alfie, please share.

This is Lily (AAR2469) & Norma (AAR2578) Up until quite recently they lived together in a loving home but due to circumstances beyond their control they now find themselves living in kennels. Lily is a brown & white 5 year old Mastin cross & Norma is a grey & white 6 year old Mastin Espanol.

They are now living a life with no home comforts. The sofa that they loved to share with their owner for lots of cuddles. The choice to be indoors or outdoors as they pleased. To lay under their favourite bush in the garden. More variety of food.

In kennels they are fed regularly and receive basic care but they no longer have a family and the love that came with it.

We would love these 2 girls to be able to experience home life again and ideally before winter sets it.

If you could offer either a foster or forever home to either or both girls please email: [email protected]
