The heat that is uncomfortable for us… can be deadly for them. ☀️🐶
Dogs don't sweat the way humans do, and when their bodies can't regulate their temperature, they can suffer from heatstroke. Some breeds like Bulldogs or Pugs are especially vulnerable, but so are puppies, senior dogs, or those who are overweight.
🚨 Warning signs:
- Excessive panting
- Very red gums or tongue
- Vomiting
- Disorientation
- Weakness or collapsing
And remember: leaving your dog inside the car, even if it's "just for a moment," can have fatal consequences.
💧 If you suspect heatstroke: ✔️ Move them to a cool place ✔️ Wet them with cool water (never ice-cold) ✔️ Cool down their head, neck, belly, and paws ✔️ Take them to the vet as soon as possible
This summer, their safety depends on you. Save this video and share it with someone who has a dog. 🐾

🦷 We are still talking about the signs that can indicate oral pain in our companion animals.

In this second part, we wrap up with the last few signs and share a very important bonus 👇

🔹 Making strange mouth movements when eating or dropping food
🔹 Sudden swelling appearing, such as an abscess or gum boil

🎁 Bonus: oral pain can also be silent and go unnoticed.

Our animals often live with discomfort without showing obvious signs. That is why, even if you don't notice clear changes, some oral diseases might be progressing and affecting their quality of life.

💡 An annual oral check-up can help detect problems before they cause severe pain or require urgent attention.

🦷 5 signs (plus a bonus) of oral pain in your pet

Dental issues are more common than they seem, and they really hurt 😖

Warning signs:
1️⃣ Excessive drooling
2️⃣ Persistent bad breath
3️⃣ Red or inflamed gums
4️⃣ Changes in the mouth (swelling, sores)
5️⃣ Difficulty or discomfort while eating

✨ BONUS: If you can smell the bad breath from a distance, something is wrong.

Catching it early makes all the difference 🐾 When in doubt, consult your vet.

😍 These are some of our favorite visits.
A few days ago, we welcomed some adorable little puppies full of curiosity, sweetness, and excitement to explore the world. 🐾💛

A puppy’s first veterinary visit is an important step toward a healthy start in life. Ideally, it should take place shortly after arriving at their new home, usually between 6 and 8 weeks of age, for a general health check, vaccination guidance, deworming advice, and basic care recommendations.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of this special journey! ✨🐶

Lima is our case of the month for a very special reason: she reminds us how important it is to listen to those small changes that only her family can recognize 💚

Her owner noticed that she wasn't her usual self. Even though the symptoms didn't seem too worrying, she decided to bring her to the hospital without waiting. That quick response was key to acting in time.

Thanks to that decision, today Lima is fully recovered: she plays, runs, and enjoys her day-to-day life just like always 🐶✨

Stories like hers teach us that, many times, going to the vet at the slightest sign can change everything. Because timely care can pave the way toward a full recovery.

Thank you to her family for trusting us and for acting when she needed it most 💫

4 basic health questions if you want a healthy cat 💚

🐱 How often should they be vaccinated?
🐱 Do they need deworming if they don't go outside?
🐱 Is going a day without eating normal?
🐱 How often should I take them to the vet?

Today we answer all these questions. Caring for their health also means staying one step ahead 🐾

This week we received an emergency call. It was about Nemo, a 5-year-old water dog 🐶. He was walking on the beach when his owner noticed that he was eating something.

When she looked at him, Nemo had a fishing line hanging from his mouth, so she rushed him to the veterinarian.

After taking an X-ray, we discovered that he had a fishhook in his stomach!!!!

He most likely swallowed it because there were remains of bait attached to it.

We referred him to Hospital Canis so they could remove it through endoscopy, a safe and minimally invasive technique.

Nemo was able to go home that very same afternoon!

We wish him a speedy recovery and would like to remind everyone of the importance of keeping an eye on our pets at the beach 💙

Have you found a tick on your dog? 🐶

What to do:
✔️ Wear gloves if possible
✔️ Remove it with tweezers or a tick hook
✔️ Pull firmly and straight upwards, from the head

What to avoid:
🕷️ Twisting it
🕷️ Crushing it
🕷️ Yanking it sharply

Afterwards:
🧼 Disinfect the area
👐 Wash your hands
🧪 Dispose of it in rubbing alcohol

💡 Check your pet after every walk and focus on prevention (collars, spot-on treatments or tablets).
If you’re not sure, visit your vet 🐾
