We want to reinforce behaviours that we want to see more of with something our dog finds positive.
For most dogs this is most easily done with the use of treats as the reinforcer.
But did you know, not all treats are the same?
Each dog will have it's preference, likes and dislikes. Just like us with biscuits or chocolate, what is one persons favourite will be another's least favourite.
Also, when training our dogs we want to stick to small, soft treats as these will be easier or our dogs to eat quickly whilst training but still find nice and want some more. Whereas a crunchy biscuit is going to take them a while to get through, be dry so will need a drink quicker and not able to progress as quickly as if you had gone for a smaller, soft treat.
Also, remember we also want to look at ingredients of the treats as although not making up the main meal, as we do training we will use a fair few and even just a few a day can impact their heath.
So by going for small, soft treat as well as healthy, natural ones where possible, this will be a perfect combination.
But, we know good treats can soo add up when using a fair few whilst doing training or if you have multiple dogs.
That is why we have but together our training treat boxes. These include 500g of treats and 5 moist sausages for £19 or 1kg of training treats and 5 moist sausages for £24 and you also get 2 tracheas in your box as well, no matter what size box you choose. But, it doesn't stop there we have an introductory price for both size boxes. 500g are currently £17 and 1kg boxes £21!
So order now to get your treats and a bargain. And don't worry if your dog has allergies, just pop that in the notes box on the payment page and we will swap that out for another protein they can have.
If you haven't already, head over to our group Furever happy tums training treat bundles where you can ask any questions, we will give more sneak peaks of what is in the boxes (which is a lot for your money!)
