La Cala de Mijas is getting ready for its biggest annual Community, Coffee & Cake Morning in aid of the fantastic Macmillan Cancer Support charity. 💚

📅 From 10am on Friday, 25th September at The Blarney, La Cala de Mijas, La Cala de Mijas

Come along for what promises to be a fantastic morning filled with fun, friendship, delicious homemade cakes and a fabulous raffle! 🍰☕🎟️

Most importantly, all proceeds will help local communities affected by cancer. Every donation and every bit of help can make a real difference. 💚

The second half of this year we are congratulating the first rounds of British Citizens reaching the 5 year anniversary on the NLV (Non Lucrative Visa), and celebrating the important milestone with those that have achieved their goal to becoming Long Term Residents in Spain. 🇪🇸🎉

The Initial ties for the Long Term Residency are issued for 5 years, and there after for those that are over 30 further renewals for the cards will be issued for 10 years.

Long Term Residency allows absences from the EU for up to 12 months consecutively, or multiple trips up to a total of 30 months in any 5 year rolling period. 😎

📆The next milestone for some will be after the next 5 years, when they reach a total of 10 years of residency it may be possible to apply for citizenship in Spain.

ℹ️To qualify for Long Term Residency on the NLV you can not be out of Spain for more than 10 months during the temporary residency of 5 years. (As well as maintaining the terms of the NLV)

⚠️important info for anyone in the stages of applying for your initial Non Lucrative Visa in the UK.

Currently there are delays with obtaining criminal record checks / ACROS in the UK.

You need to allow at least 30 working days for processing, plus another 8 working days for delivery.

Speedy service of a few days is also now taking around 2 weeks.

This will have an impact that is uncontrollable on many timelines so please take this into consideration if starting or if already in the process of your application.

Lots of visa approvals have been coming through over the past few weeks from all the UK consulates. 🎉

The one thing that never seems to change, though, is the lack of consistency in processing times. 😅

Applications through London, Manchester, and Edinburgh can take anywhere from a few days to several months, so try not to compare your timeline with anyone else's.

If you're still waiting, stay positive and keep the faith. We know how frustrating it is to see people who applied after you receiving their approvals first. 😫

We've been helping Brits obtain the NLV for more than five years and have been supporting moves to Spain for over a decade. Throughout that time, one thing has remained the same, the immigration process can be unpredictable, and unfortunately, there's no set timeframe.
