Changing the life of one animal at a time. Last year SOS on average found homes for two dogs a week

We’ve had a big delivery from Sweden this week which included our flight kennels coming back plus even more importantly lots of donations of treats and toys etc
Unfortunately nothing lasts long here but today Habana is enjoying a new ring toy.

Picasso and Gordito are on their way to Stockholm and new lives.
Picasso was a bit worried about what was happening but little Gordito seemed to find the airport very interesting.
Thanks Ida for coming back volunteering yet again and taking the dogs to their waiting families.

Gordito and Picasso are tomorrow’s lucky travellers😁
This morning they got their final checks and travel papers so all good to go.
Lovely to finally have more dogs on the move.

We’ve had a few hours of thunder, a bit of lightening and now finally the forecast rain is here. Until Tuesday apparently 🤔
Brave boy Papi still wants to be out in the garden with us as we try to find places undercover to keep things dry. He found himself a good spot.

Risitas ❤️
This little guy was living in an empty warehouse along with another dog and apparently someone used to take them stale bread and water. Probably they were in there to keep the rat population down.
So sad as Risitas loves people and during garden time his absolutely favourite thing is receiving affection from the volunteers. All the garden rats could come out of hiding and dance in front of Risitas but he would ignore them all if there was a hug on offer.

A little bit of afternoon training. How good are our boys club 😁
Papi, Recitas, Gordito, Robbie, Bennet and of course Rosco❤️

Group vets visit today.
Mastin Emma, Galgo Rosco and little Nano made an interesting looking group😂
All went well and all dogs behaved. Sadly we left Emma behind for an exploratory surgery. She still has ongoing issues from the condition we found her in two years ago as a nearly dead pup.

It’s time to say hello to new boy Juanillo.
Another young dog who has waited over a year in a concrete kennel. But that’s all changing for this fabulous big puppy now.
He has a family waiting for him in Sweden in November so that’s going to be a good result for us and our hard working team in Sweden.

We’ve recently heard the very sad news of the passing of Sandy Tash.
Back in the days of when we were a much bigger shelter Sandy played a key role in SOS Animals Spain and was also our lady President. Both Sandy and her beloved husband Gerry were so supportive and it’s hard to remember any of our events that they weren’t right there on the front row, Sandy always stepped forward to thank everyone involved. Volunteers from years ago may also remember that it was often Sandy and Gerry waiting in arrivals at Malaga airport to bring them to our shelter.
Sandy was a woman with a very big heart and our thoughts go to Gerry and the family who must be devastated by their loss. RIP Sandy, you will be missed 💔

It’s time for beautiful Habana to say hello.
She had a home as a young pup for a few months and then she’s been about a year sitting in the big shelter in Malaga that we try to help, now she’s here with us. In mid November she’s hopefully on her way to Sweden to the forever family that’s she’s waited a long time for.
So many lovely dogs sitting in shelters waiting and waiting. Habana is a good example of this, but for her that’s about to change❤️
