🐾 Help us make a difference — become our volunteer Treasurer!

Love animals? Good with numbers? Have a little time to spare? We’d love to hear from you!
PAWS-PATAS is a friendly team of volunteers dedicated to rescuing, caring for and finding loving homes for cats and dogs. We’re looking for a volunteer Treasurer to help us look after our finances and plan for the future, so we can continue giving animals the care and second chance they deserve.

🐶 What would you be doing?
You’d be helping us keep an eye on the charity’s finances and making sure we’re in a good position to help animals in need. Working alongside our committee and existing accounts person, you would:
● Keep an overview of our income, spending and overall financial health.
● Give the committee a straightforward update on how we’re doing financially.
● Help prepare an annual budget and plan for the future, in collaboration with the committee and other volunteers.
● Liaise with our external accountants when the annual accounts are prepared.
● Help ensure we’re managing our funds responsibly and planning ahead.
The good news? We already have an accounts person who looks after the routine bookkeeping and payments, so you won’t be starting from scratch or doing everything yourself!

🕒 How much time would it take?
We estimate that the role could take as little as three days a month, depending on what’s needed at the time. Some tasks can be done from home, and there’s one monthly committee meeting to attend. We know everyone has other commitments, so we’re happy to discuss how the role could work for you.

💚 Do you need to be a qualified accountant?
Not at all! A good understanding of numbers, confidence with spreadsheets or simple accounting software, and a willingness to help would be a great start. We’re looking for someone who is:
● Reliable, honest and trustworthy.
● Organised and comfortable working with figures.
● Happy to work as part of a friendly team.
● Able to communicate in English. Spanish would be useful, but isn’t essential.

🐱 What’s in it for you?
You’ll be part of a caring team making a real difference to the lives of cats and dogs. Your contribution will help us use our funds wisely, plan for the future and give more animals the chance of a happy home.
You don’t have to be an expert or have lots of spare time — just a willingness to help and a genuine interest in what we do.

Do you remember Millie?

Look at this beautiful girl now! 😍🥰
Millie arrived at our shelter heavily pregnant, and just a few days later, she gave birth to no fewer than 13 puppies! 💕 Sadly, two of them didn't survive, but Millie proved to be an amazing mum and raised her little eleven-strong team with so much love and devotion. 🐶❤️
Her puppies have now grown up, and almost all of them have found loving homes of their own. 🏡💖
But today, we have some wonderful news to share… JUST LOOK AT MILLIE NOW! 😍❤️
This beautiful girl is finally enjoying the life she deserves, surrounded by love, cuddles and all the happiness a dog could wish for. 🥹💕
Millie has been through so much, and seeing her so happy in her new home makes our hearts melt. ❤️ After everything she has been through, she can finally relax, feel safe and simply enjoy being loved.
THIS is why we do what we do. 🐾💙
Every dog deserves a chance. Every dog deserves a loving home. And every happy ending reminds us why we never give up. ❤️

Millie llegó a nuestro refugio estando muy avanzada en su embarazo y, tan solo unos días después, dio a luz a nada menos que ¡13 cachorritos! 💕 Por desgracia, dos de ellos no sobrevivieron, pero Millie demostró ser una mamá maravillosa y consiguió sacar adelante a sus once pequeños con muchísimo amor y dedicación. 🐶❤️
Sus cachorros ya han crecido y casi todos han encontrado una familia maravillosa con la que compartir su vida. 🏡💖
Pero hoy tenemos una noticia preciosa que compartir con vosotros… ¡MIRAD A MILLIE AHORA! 😍❤️
Esta preciosa chica por fin está disfrutando de la vida que se merece, rodeada de amor, mimos y toda la felicidad que un perro podría desear. 🥹💕
Millie ha pasado por muchas cosas, y verla tan feliz en su nuevo hogar nos llena el corazón de alegría. ❤️ Después de todo lo que ha vivido, por fin puede relajarse, sentirse segura y disfrutar de lo más bonito de todo: ¡ser querida! 🥰

Meet Lamine!
This gorgeous little boy has a soft, fluffy coat that is getting longer and developing the cutest little curls!
Lamine is a gentle, sweet and affectionate puppy who loves attention and cuddles. He happily comes over to give you kisses and is always up for a little game with a ball. He is already learning to walk nicely on the lead, too!
At just 17 weeks old, Lamine still has lots to discover and learn. He is looking for a loving family who will help him grow, explore the world and become the wonderful dog he is meant to be.

It was time to say goodbye to Jacomina from the Netherlands! 🇳🇱❤️
For three weeks, Jacomina has been a fantastic help to us and our dogs. 🐾

¡Ha llegado el momento de despedirnos de Jacomina, que vino desde Holanda! 🇳🇱❤️
Durante tres semanas, Jacomina ha sido una gran ayuda para nosotros y nuestros perros. 🐾
¡Muchísimas gracias, Jacomina, por todo tu trabajo y dedicación! Esperamos volver a verte algún día. ¡Las puertas de PAWS-PATAS siempre estarán abiertas para ti!

Congratulations to Gus & dog, Chico, the 11th winners of our PAWS-SOME Club. Gus chose the name of a previous dog who was in the care of PAWS-PATAS to represent him in the draw, so Gus has him to thank for the €2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ Amazon vouchers he’s chosen!

Chico was found abandoned in August 2022, around the age of 6, with an extremely high leishmaniasis count, very stiff & sore 😪He had a chip but the owner didn’t respond to phone calls or texts from PAWS-PATAS

Taken to our shelter he cried nonstop 😭in the intake kennels & one of our volunteers, Clodagh, kindly offered to foster him as he had clearly previously had a home. He settled in straight away, showed how super friendly he was, clean in the house & loved to go out for walks. Needless to say it wasn’t long before he “adopted” Clodagh, Peter & their other three dogs 🐕🐕🐕

5 years later Chico has ongoing treatment for his leishmaniasis, but is the happiest & most undemanding of little dogs & all he wants is to be with you🫶

Clodagh & family love his affectionate nature & they’re equally devoted to him as he is to them 💞

A happy ending for Chico, a complete family for Clodagh, Peter and their dogs and 250€ for Gus to spend at Amazon. What could be nicer to hear on a Sunday morning?☺️

¡Felicidades a Gus y a su perro, Chico, los undécimos ganadores de nuestro club PAWS-SOME! Gus eligió el nombre de un perro que estuvo anteriormente bajo el cuidado de PAWS-PATAS para participar en el sorteo; ¡así que le debe a ese perro los vales de Amazon por valor de 250€ que ha elegido!👏

Chico fue encontrado abandonado en agosto de 2022 con unos 6 años de edad; presentaba niveles altísimos de leishmaniosis y sufría mucha rigidez y dolor. Tenía microchip, pero su dueño no respondía a las llamadas ni a los mensajes de PAWS-PATAS

Tras llevarlo a nuestro refugio, lloraba sin parar en las jaulas de admisión; entonces, una de nuestras voluntarias, Clodagh, se ofreció amablemente a acogerlo, ya que era evidente que había tenido un hogar anteriormente. Se adaptó de inmediato, demostró ser súper sociable, se portaba muy bien dentro de casa y le encantaba salir a pasear. Sobra decir que no tardó mucho en "adoptar" a Clodagh, a Peter y a sus otros tres perros

Cinco años después, Chico sigue recibiendo tratamiento para su leishmaniosis; es un perrito feliz y nada exigente, y lo único que quiere es estar contigo💕

Clodagh y su familia adoran su carácter cariñoso, y ellos están tan volcados con él como él lo está con ellos

Un final feliz para Chico, una familia completa para Clodagh, Peter y sus perros, y 250 € para que Gus los gaste en Amazon. ¿Qué podría ser más agradable de escuchar un domingo por la mañana?🫶
