Are you based in Spain or Portugal and have you ever considered growing Jojoba?

We are a small scale farm in the Valencia region in Spain, currently comprising one hectare, with the ambition to grow into a 3 to 4 hectare jojoba farm and we are looking for fellow enthusiasts who aspire to bring this promising crop to Europe and grow it, whether for private use or commercially. Not to be competitors but to share our knowledge, experience and passion with one another. To unite in what could become the first Jojoba cooperation in Europe!

After years of researching and growing from seeds ourselves with mixed results, we have found a supplier with 3 decades of experience of propagating this crop by taking cuttings from high producing and early fruiting mother plants. They are fully certified and willing to ship us cuttings of 25-35 cm of carefully selected motherplants as well as male plants from high producing strains in the right ratio.

But there is a minimum order that is simply too big for us, both to plant at once. This is why we have decided to give others with the same interest a chance to join in on our adventure and become the first to grow jojoba in europe!

We only have a limited amount of growkits available. Each growkit contains 2 males and 13 females. These are very suitable for self-sufficient growers and take up space equalling 2 olive trees. You can order as many packs as you like till sold out. There is a 4 pack (60 plants) discount available and we can invoice B to B for commercially interested parties.

To assure the trees have the best start and don't suffer too much on transport we are planning to make the final order medio end of august/begining of september and redistribute them after a short acclimatization phase for them to be delivered to your doorstep approx. end of september, so they can be planted directly on both irrigated as non irrigated land.

Dear followers,

I know we have been a little silent for a while. Like many of you know we started this page many moons ago, to share the ins and outs on our little homestead. The good, the bad and the ugly about our struggle to become self sufficient farmers, not just dreamers.

But I can tell you it has been a tough few years regaining our own confidence and mental health again after the destruction of our almond trees. I would be lying to say it hasn’t been a tough cookie to swallow to see all of your dreams turn into dust and start over new, reinvent ourselves and believe that yes we can and this is what we really want.

After years of severe depression and anger at so much injustice and struggling to pay for outstanding debts the destruction left behind, I can finally proudly say: we did it! We freaking did it! And yes, after pondering and writing business plan afer businessplan -evaluating and re-evaluating it- we believe in a new start and we believe we have an amazingly great plan!

Here and there we shared it with you already and you tested our website and gave us much apreciated feedback so we could filter most bugs and faq out. It is time now to share it with our bigger network and of course we love to share it first and foremost with you who follow us from the start!
