🇺🇸 Dark Bay Double Pearl filly, five months old.

Class, size and strong conformation — a filly with a truly promising future!

The same coat as her sire, Comte PM, with that rare golden shine and remarkable depth.

Coat genetics: EE Aa PrlPrl

And here comes a fascinating question: what really determines the final coat shade? Why are some black and bay Double Pearls so dark, while others are much lighter, almost white?

Pigmentation depends on multiple genes regulating the production, distribution and concentration of melanin.

Clearly, the base coat alone does not determine the final shade, and the genetic mechanisms behind these differences are still not fully understood.

Time and further scientific research will tell!
