🥛 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸: 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿
Aflatoxin contamination in feed can go beyond animal nutrition: AFB1 consumed by dairy cows can be metabolised into AFM1 and subsequently transferred into milk. 🔬 A study conducted by the Universities of Iowa and Missouri and Biovet, S.A., published in 𝘑𝘋𝘚 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴, showed that 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗹𝘆𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗙𝗠𝟭 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟳%, without affecting its nutritional values. 🌿 As the active molecule in 𝗔𝗹𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗼𝘅, silicoglycidol acts in the digestive tract to reduce aflatoxin absorption and help limit its transfer into milk, contributing to 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆.
