A big part of our work involves examining samples from the patients we see in the clinic. 🩺🔬

Nina, one of our veterinarians, is examining an ear cytology from Kira, a patient who came to the clinic with ear pain. In the photo, you can see the already stained sample showing an overgrowth of Malassezia, a yeast that is normally part of a dog’s natural flora but can sometimes multiply more than usual and cause discomfort and ear problems.

🇬🇧 Meet Coco! 🐱

Coco is an 8-year-old Sphynx cat who came to us with a tooth infection affecting her upper incisor teeth. 🦷

Sphynx cats require extra precautions during anaesthesia, as they can have an increased anaesthetic risk due to hereditary conditions and their tendency to lose body temperature more quickly.

Before the procedure, we carried out a thorough pre-operative health check and took extra measures to keep Coco warm throughout the anaesthetic. As always, she was closely monitored, including her heart with an ECG, blood pressure and oxygen levels. ❤️

Coco was in safe hands throughout her procedure! 🐾

🇪🇸 ¡Os presentamos a Coco! 🐱

🍂 Autumn is here: 5 things to check on your dog or cat.
1️⃣ Parasites: Fleas and ticks don't disappear with the cold, so keep up with deworming throughout autumn and winter.

2️⃣ Coat and skin: It's shedding season. Regular brushing removes dead hair and helps you spot any friction, wounds, or parasites.

3️⃣ Moisture: After every walk, check their ears, paws, skin folds, and paw pads, especially if they've stepped in mud or puddles.

4️⃣ Weight and diet: Less sunlight often means less activity, and some pets put on weight. Make sure they stay in good shape.

5️⃣ Preventive check-up: Take the opportunity to update their deworming, vaccinations, and any pending check-ups.

Autumn is beautiful, but prevention is better than cure 🍁
If you have any doubts, your veterinarian is always the best starting point.

🐾 What happens when Google becomes our on-call vet?

When our pet has a health issue, it’s easy to turn to Google for answers. But with so much information out there, telling what’s reliable from what isn’t isn't always easy.

That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the most frequently asked questions about dogs and cats and asked a vet to help us put them into context 👇

💊 Can my dog or cat take ibuprofen? 🌱 Why does my dog eat grass? 😴 Does my dog or cat have nightmares? 🐱 Why does my cat throw up hairballs? 💛 How does my cat know I’m sick?

📌 Google can offer information, but your pet's health deserves a professional evaluation. If you ever have doubts, always consult your vet. 🩺

🍫🐶 Today, September 13, we celebrate International Chocolate Day, but it's best not to share it with our pets.

Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, substances that dogs and cats metabolize much slower than humans, which can be toxic to them.

Ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, cardiac abnormalities, and even seizures.

⚠️ The risk depends on the amount consumed, the type of chocolate, and the animal's weight.

👉 If your pet has eaten chocolate, save the packaging and contact your vet as soon as possible or head to an emergency clinic. Do not wait for symptoms to appear.

Enjoy your chocolate today, and treat your companion to something made specifically for them ❤️

This little guy came to our clinic after eating these sausage leftovers. Luckily, he arrived shortly after, so we were able to safely induce vomiting. 🐶❤️

Just a few minutes later, the sausage pieces were out — and our patient was happy, healthy and ready to go home! 🥰

🇬🇧 What is a veterinary emergency? 🚨
Another episode of our video series about what is — and what isn’t — a veterinary emergency.

A little extra information: 🐛 If your dog has been in contact with processionary caterpillars, come to the clinic immediately. This is a true emergency and requires urgent veterinary attention.

🇪🇸 ¿Qué es una urgencia veterinaria? 🚨
