Wrong Obstacle? Think Clarity.
When dogs choose the wrong obstacle, it is often tempting to think: “They weren’t focused.”
But very often, the bigger question is:
How clear was the picture?
Wrong choices don’t always come from lack of effort.
They often come from unclear information:
unclear lines, unclear timing, unclear commitment, unclear expectations BUT that means it is something we can actually improve. The clearer the picture becomes, the easier it is for the dog to make the right choice.
If you want to work more on discriminations and decision-making, you’ll find more on the website.
