Which of these horses should be allowed to be registered as a Pure Spanish Horse?
Take a look before answering.
The truth is…
They are the exact same horses.
The only thing that changes is the colour of their eyes.
At Yeguada Sierra de la Espada, we have dedicated years to breeding unique Pure Spanish Horses, preserving type, functionality and genetic diversity.
Today, a naturally occurring blue eye can still prevent a horse from being registered.
We believe it is time to have this conversation.
Should eye colour really determine whether a Pure Spanish Horse can be officially registered?
We would genuinely like to hear your opinion.
, how can breeders and ANCCE work together to review a rule that many believe no longer reflects today’s knowledge of equine genetics?
