A SAD ARRIVAL/UNA TRISTE LLEGADA
We have yet another deserving case at the Rescue Centre. Another aged grey mare in a very poor condition, skin and bones, melanomas, overgrown feet. Cariñosa is as loving as her name but has been sadly neglected in her old age. We will be trying to give her a better life and a better future.
Tenemos otro caso que merece ayuda en el Centro de Rescate. Otra yegua gris anciana en muy mal estado: piel y huesos, melanomas y pezuñas demasiado largas. Cariñosa es tan cariñosa como su nombre, pero lamentablemente ha sido descuidada en su vejez. Intentaremos darle una vida y un futuro mejores.

ARCH, The Andalusian Rescue Centre for Horses (and ponies and donkeys), is looking for a new secretary. This would be a paid position of two hours on three days a week. Applicants must be bilingual in Spanish and English – being Utilidad Publica there is a lot of official Spanish paperwork to submit. It is essential to be computer literate and confident handling data, updating files etc. as well as other administrative duties. You don’t necessarily have to have experience with horses but should enjoy working in a friendly team.

ARCH, el Centro de Rescate de Caballos de Andalucía (también de ponis y burros), busca un nuevo secretario/a. Se trata de un puesto remunerado de dos horas, tres días a la semana. Los candidatos deben ser bilingües en español e inglés, ya que, al ser una entidad de Utilidad Pública, hay mucho papeleo oficial que presentar en español. Es imprescindible tener conocimientos de informática y manejarse con confianza en la gestión de datos, actualización de archivos, etc., así como en otras tareas administrativas. No es necesario tener experiencia con caballos, pero sí disfrutar trabajando en un equipo agradable.

R.I.P./D.E.P
Today we had to say goodbye to dear old Borrego. The hardest part of being an ARCH volunteer. This aged mule came to us in February, a victim of appalling neglect and abuse. He was skin and bone with an old injury which had healed badly and left him chronically lame. We have cared for him for the past few months and he has enjoyed good food, proper attention and a lot of love, but sadly we could no longer do more to alleviate his pain. Our lovely vet Rocio told us it was time for him to leave and she helped him do so in dignity and love. Another casualty of animal cruelty, fortunately in this case it has not been left unpunished! ARCH will always pursue the perpetrators through the Courts with the aid of our Animal Rights lawyer.
Hoy tuvimos que despedirnos del querido Borrego. Esta puede ser la parte más difícil de ser voluntario de ARCH. Este mulo anciano llegó a nosotros en febrero, víctima de un abandono y maltrato terribles. Estaba en los huesos, con una vieja lesión que había cicatrizado mal y le había dejado cojo crónicamente. Lo hemos cuidado durante los últimos meses y ha disfrutado de buena comida, atención adecuada y mucho amor, pero lamentablemente ya no podíamos hacer más para aliviar su dolor. Nuestra encantadora veterinaria Rocío nos dijo que era hora de que se fuera y lo ayudó a hacerlo con dignidad y amor. Otra víctima de la crueldad animal, afortunadamente en este caso no ha quedado impune. ARCH siempre perseguirá a los culpables ante los tribunales con la ayuda de nuestro abogado de derechos de los animales.

"“ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE!” "¡TODO LO QUE NECESITAS ES AMOR!"
Lola and Bella, our adorable donkey duo are ready to find their perfect home. These lovely girls are bonded and have to stay together so whoever adopts them will have double love given to them as they are both so affectionate. They are now happy, healthy and a pleasure to be with. Although our volunteers and visitors will miss them at the Centre they really need a country home and their own family. Look at their photos, how can anyone resist them?

Lola y Bella, nuestro adorable dúo de burras, están listas para encontrar su hogar perfecto. Estas preciosas burritas son inseparables y deben permanecer juntas, así que quien las adopte recibirá el doble de amor, ya que ambas son muy cariñosas. Ahora están felices, sanas y es un placer estar con ellas. Aunque nuestros voluntarios y visitantes las echarán de menos en el Centro, realmente necesitan un hogar en el campo y su propia familia. At ARCH our volunteers often have to deal with sad and difficult cases. So we need to celebrate our success stories that make our work worthwhile. To see rescues thriving in new homes after a bad start in life encourages us to continue.
En ARCH, nuestros voluntarios a menudo tienen que lidiar con casos tristes y difíciles. Por eso, necesitamos celebrar nuestras historias de éxito, que hacen que nuestro trabajo valga la pena. NEVER TOO YOUNG
Children are the future and at ARCH we know it is important to teach them love and respect for animals from an early age. We are happy to allow youngsters to interact with those of our rescues who enjoy their company so they can learn how to treat them properly. However, under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Los niños son el futuro y en ARCH sabemos que es importante enseñarles el amor y el respeto por los animales desde una edad temprana. Nos alegra permitir que los más pequeños interactúen con nuestros rescatados y que disfrutan de su compañía, para que puedan aprender a tratarlos correctamente. Les recordamos que los menores de 16 años deben estar acompañados por un adulto en todo momento.
