At the beginning of 2017 the founder, Zeina Emparez, started the shelter with the aim to provide the very needed help to hundreds of cats in the district of Giza. Zeina started this project in a small apartment where she rescued and nursed back to health more than 1200 cats. What started as a small project has grown with the h

elp of sponsors, donors and volunteers in Egypt and in many other countries. Thanks to this, Zee Shelter has been able to find a forever home to more than 800 cats in the past 5 years. In 2019 the efforts made it necessary to look for a bigger, safer place where all cats get the needed food, rest and medical attention, so that they can recover and be prepared for adoption. Today is supposed to be a celebration of everything we love about cats.

But as we walk through our shelter and see all these beautiful faces, we can’t help but think about the cats who are still waiting. 💔

Every single one has a personality.
A little heart.
A story.
And a life that could be so much more than shelter walls.

For many of these cats, their forever home may be far away. And that’s why international adoption can change everything. ✈️🏡

A journey across borders can mean the beginning of an entirely new life—a warm home, a family, safety, comfort, and the love they’ve been waiting for.

🚨 URGENT EMERGENCY RESCUE 🚨

Two tiny kittens have been abandoned on a busy highway. Cars are speeding past them every second, and they could be hit at any moment. They are terrified, helpless, and trapped in an extremely dangerous place.

Every single day, more rescued cats arrive at our shelter after surviving life on the streets. They have already suffered enough, and now they desperately need vaccinations to protect them from deadly diseases.

Without these vaccines, one outbreak could spread quickly through the shelter and put so many innocent lives at risk. We cannot let that happen.

This beautiful cat has spent his life trapped inside a filthy wire cage in a pet shop.

He is underweight, dehydrated, exhausted by the extreme heat, and forced to live only for breeding. Day after day, he is denied the love, freedom, and care that every animal deserves.

No animal should have to live like this.
