Biological Diversity was yesterday the topic we explored in our wonderfull lush sunny Community Garden, through shared refelctions, new plantfriends which also became participants in a Plant Mandala and some was gifts to our delicious herbal tea. In the end we had a circle sharing "How are we humans connected to both problems and solutions for Nature/Biodiversity" and we came up with this list of small actions we can take in our lifes to leave positive traces on this wonderful planet on all life in soil, water and air. Here is just a small sample of ideas and links, be curious yourself :-)
- Sign up for trashpicking there is many both smal local groups and bigger national ones. By that you help both directly and (at best) preventing new trash polluting in Nature, Waters etc. https://www.greenkayak.org/, https://www.affaldsindsamlingen.dk/
- Make a life around other things than "consuming" buying "stuff". By that you save the exploitation of Nature, where all "ressources" for our new kitchens, clothes and tech. https://www.instagram.com/projecthandmade/?hl=da
- If you have knowledge about how to caretake, save or regenerate in all fields from repairing to gardening, then share with others and learn even more yourself. More knowledge (on how and why) can lead to more actions. See our upcoming workshops and https://repaircafedanmark.dk/
- Stay/become connected to Nature, even if you live in a city, we have many green oasis inside and just outside the city. Mother Nature needs your connection as much as you need her care.
- As a minimum keep voting for green goverments, even if this system feels like its not moving us fast or close enough to reel change. Find the parties which in their actual votings try to leave a positive trace on Land.
- If you have more energy then put some time in NGOs working for Nature/Climate/Biodiversity both local and global. Sign petitions, attend demonstrations, collaborate and help connect all the small green NGOs https://www.groennelys.dk/ , https://noah.dk/, https://www.klimabevaegelsen.dk/deltag and many more
- Put your money to work for a regenerative foodsystem of local smallscale farmers which works on a daily basis to both provide food and leave the soil/Nature in a better place. You can attend both Foodcooperations like https://kbhff.dk/ and also every sunday support local smallscale regenerative Farmers https://www.groentmarked.dk/ by buying their fresh and delicious seasonal foods. You can also become a member of https://www.andelsgaarde.dk/ which is a organisation buying up Farms to free young regenerative farmers of the economic strains
- Also think where other parts of your money goes and perhaps find an ethical bank which invest in green and social companies (like https://merkur.dk/) and push your retirement funds, for green investments.
- At last remember to have fun and Keep yourself in a good mental state, becourse both Nature and future generations need your persistence :-)
Many late summer regards from all participants of yesterdays circles of Biodiversity
